Krka is home the Jaruga Hydroelectric Power Plant Jaruga Hydroelectric Power Plant is a hydroelectric power plant on river Krka, located in Šibenik-Knin County, in central Dalmatia, Croatia. The first European hydroelectric power plant was built in Croatia (many[1] people worked together to make this possible). According to Nikola Tesla's patents, it was operational two days after Niagara Falls' installation of the first hydroelectric power plant in the world. A turbine, two generators (42 Hz, 550 kW) and a transformer made by the Hungarian company Ganz were built under the Skradinski Buk waterfall. The Jaruga is one of the oldest power-generating facilities in the world. Its present location dates back to 1903 when it was moved from the nearby original Jaruga power station built in 1895.

We might go to a Hajduk Split football game there in the evening if we can buy tickets at the stadium. Then maybe stay one night there and come back to Dubrovnik on monday.

I was born in Split, Dalmatia. Glad you liked it. Our sea is called Adriatic sea. Diocletian was not just an emperior, he wanted to retired in a unique place, that's why he called his privete shaman priestes to choose him a unique spot in part of the world to have his last rest. Croatia is not Balkan. It is South-West european region. You have to try better food, we have some great specialties. You eat on a market as I see. I've treveled around during my lifetime... The palace is 1700 years old, but most of the actual structures were built over ancient foundations and are usually medieval or younger, as people have been living there the whole time. Some of the most representative buildings are indeed 1700 years old, its just that they arent really used for accomodation.

All this history demolishes the myth and narrative prevalent in Serbian historiography and political elites that the Serbs were defenders of European Christianity and the main people who fought the penetration of the Ottoman invaders. Ironically, it is documented here that it was precisely the Serbs more than any other people who cooperated with the Ottomans for the expansion of the Ottoman Empire, even this assistance of the Serbs was also evidenced in the conquest of the center of orthodoxy in the East, Constantinople. fact that Giorgo Sfranze, advisor to the last Byzantine Emperor, Constantine XI, during his stay in exile in Corfu, had formulated harsh accusations against the Serbs because of their role in the sinking of Byzantium. "From different territories, Serbia has been able to secretly send money and men. Has anyone seen money? Indeed they sent money and many men, but they sent it to the emir (think Mehmet II), who was besieging the city (Constantinople). And the Turks rejoiced and said: you see, even the Serbs are against you", wrote Giorgo Sfranze. Deeply depressed, this Byzantine remembered the Serbian role in the fall of Constantinople, where Constantine XI fell fighting. Serbian elites did not practice Orthodox solidarity www.quora.com/How-many-battles-has-Serbia-been-involved-in-helping-the-Ottomans
