Chris Grier needs to be on the hot seat if Tua plays poorly against top competition again this season. He chose Tua over Herbert and that's fine. Except for the fact that Herbert in the Mike McDaniel offense would have Miami in the Super Bowl conversation. Tua has to prove it and I hope he does because the alternative isn't great at this point. But man, Grier overthought things in the draft four years ago.

17:05 - I think its the safest bet of all time to assume Justin brought back Shane. Shane is one of two coordinator or position coaches that doesn't have a past connection to Harbaugh. The other unicorn is Ryan Fichen, ST Coordinator, and the Chargers had a high ranking special teams unit in 2023 (and I heard Michigan had a lower ranked unit). That's why Ryan was retained by Harbaugh

Develop herbert? He's an all pro qb who throws for over 4000 yards like clockwork other than last season where he got injured the season was shot, and they shut him down. I'm hoping he can develop the run game and the defense. You know, the things the chargers have been bottom tier in for all of Herberts seasons! Herbert needs help, not development!

Agree to a point. I think Herbert just needs reinforcement of his confidence and some professional guidance in helping him process where he failed in the past. He has to stay healthy and he can't be like Josh Allen. He has to trust the guys around him and Harbaugh "should" help him with this.
