The problems for the Jets are legion: 1. They evaluated Zach Wilson and thought he could be a capable backup, after all they've seen 2. They don't have a 3rd string QB, as Tim Boyle is the only QB in the NF: worse than Zach Wilson 3. They didn't react to the Rodgers injury......at all. They stood pat, and now the season will be over by the time any help arrives 4. Their team has too much talent, and they will win the easier games in their schedule later in the season, ruining their draft status 5. They can't count on Rodgers, at age 40, coming back and being anything close to what he used to be, but they have to pay him all the money, and he will expect them to save the spot for him, so they can't even plan for a brighter future. 6. They have a horrible OC, who's only skill is being Aaron Rodgers BFF. he can't run an offense without him. 7. Their offensive line is bottom 5 in the league, so even if they get a QB......they can't protect him! This.......is Jets Football!

The line was fine against NE. Becton was moved and played better and AVT was moved to the other tackle spot. Zach holds the ball to long. Next Gen Stats has him dead at 3.22 seconds week 3. Tua was first at 2.29. It's Zach, 4th and 10 with a minute forty left on the clock. Has plenty of time, he throws a 2 yard check down. There was a WR open too, even if he didn't see them pass the ball to someone down the field. Try to get a penalty or let your WR make a play. 2 yard check down is worse that an Int down the field.

Nick is spot on about Rodgers wanting all his buddies with him. They're wasting a roster spot on Cobb, Lazard is Okay but they had Moore and Davis, both gone now, Hardman is good but doesn't see the field, they didn't need Cook with Breece Hall and their other backs, and Boyle is a PS camp arm and nothing else. While they were doing all that they never addressed their O line nearly enough. But they did make Rodgers feel loved and supported with all his friends. Maybe they should have a show called "Happy Days East."

This is what a desperate team does and it blew up in their faces, letting a 40 year old QB call the shots make trades hire coaches dictate practice schedule. The coach and GM did it because this might be the last straw, put up or shut up time. Realistically how long would it take Wentz or any other QB to digest the playbook and the language enough to run the huddle and call the play and be able to make the necessary checks at the line.
