How should the Jets handle their QB situation next season and on?
@robertpapalia18 сағат бұрын
Draft a quarterback.
@michaelrobinson60146 сағат бұрын
DRAFT/FA FOCUS: Build a solid OL! Based on this strategy... 1. Release Rodgers 2. Open QB competition with current and new QB. 3. Hire the best OL Coach... 4. After the Superbowl Start raiding the practice squads for healthy OLs. From the teams with the best offensive line performance for the season. Note that sidebar of this will be the loss of key players. Before the draft... TRADE: Breece Hall Garrett Wilson ....yep, pushing the reset button.

Rodgers looks like a fool right now. which of course he is, for a variety of valid reasons. his ego wont let him quit. he wants another year to prove to everybody theyre wrong and hes right. Jets need to fix the entire offensive line or ditch Rodgers. or both.

This is why Rodgers is now saying that what the Jets need at the moment is a strong stance by ownership declaring that everything is going according to plan and they have to be patient and trust the process (as if it had always been a multiyear plan with the first two seasons as setup for the final third season when they will the SB). It's like the immunized thing. Rodgers is already preparing the alibi for why things didn't wor out: "Ownership lacked patience and blew the entire operation up on step one instead of trusting the process and the players...." Blah, blah, blah.

They should have drafted a new QB this year, but not one of the top ten, because Rodgers hates the idea of being replaced. Just someone in the third or fourth round who has a lot of promise but needs a lot of work, and present him to Rodgers as, "we think we need a new backup since we got rid of Wilson." Then let the kid sit on the bench, get a few reps in practice, and let him learn. They'd be a lot better off.
