Jetting a shallow well DIY

In this video I talk about how I jetted in a 3 inch casing and a 1 1/4 inch well pipe with a 2 inch drill pipe 22 feet long. I get all the water I need for my garden and fruit trees at a fraction of the cost of county or city water and It's better for the plant too.

Thanks for watching, It took about 45 seconds to fill a 5 gallon bucket that's 375 gallons a hour and it ran for 4 hrs( getting alot of sand) before I turned it off that's around 1500 gallons. I don't need to run it that much anymore so I don't think it will go dry.

Oh wow that's a lot more than I thought! I have a plot of land in a flood plain, but doesn't usually have standing water, that I want to farm it, it has amazing soil. I dug down about 1 foot and hit water 2 feet down was a decent amount of water also. My thought it that I could build something like this to keep pumping out enough water throughout the summer for a small veggie plot. Any thoughts ? Thanks

Loaderman 1500 gallons why do you need the city water?most people only need 375gallons

I've seen people just drill little holes or cut slits into same 2 inch pipe and leave that is as their well pipe they attach the pitcher pump to. What do you think about that? The only reason I think i would have a casing is to recover drilling water for a remote drilling where i don't have a lot of water for drilling. Thoughts? How is your electric pump working with just a T connector? don't you lose pressure with the pitcher pump while electric pumping?

Well first thanks for watching and commenting. If I had left the 2 inch in the ground I wouldn't been able to add a foot valve on the bottom of the pipe which not only keeps water from flowing back down but also stops large shells from being sucked up the pipe. most of Simmons hand pumps are 1 1/4 inch yes I could have reduced it but there again the foot valve issue. The casing is for if I need to pull the pipe out, It's hollow down to 15 feet, there's only 7 feet of pipe that is not exposed in the casing. If you notice there is a gate valve just above the T yo isolate the picture pump from the electric pump. Hope this was helpful. 👍😎

What type of electric pump did you end up putting on top of your shallow well? Where did you buy it? Or was it a pump that went down inside the well?

That's a utilitech 1/2 horsepower shallow well jet pump number 095-5549

The casing is open on both ends, makes it easier to pull out the 1.25 inch well pipe and also protects the well pipe. The well seal on top keeps out ground water. on the bottom of the 1.25 well pipe there is a foot valve that has the holes in it.

Thank you for the response. I am still a little bit confused. If there is no holes in the 3-inch pipe how does water get in only from the bottom? And if it is coming in from the bottom if you had to guess do you have any idea how many feet of water you have in that pipe?

@@joerod6106 The 1.25 inch galvanized pipe goes down about 8 feet below the end of the 3 inch casing which is 15 down The length of the 1.25 is about 23 feet down, I'm pumping from the bottom of that pipe. The only purpose of the 3 inch casing is to protect the smaller pipe inside it and make it easier to pull out if needed.
