Tello: Range Test & High Winds

I wanted to test the range, as well as the ability to fly in high winds. I only tested the range with the wifi extender because the Tello without the extender is only good for about 50ish feet.

If you're struggling in wind click the settings icon in the top left corner next to the drone icon and click fast it allows it to move faster and handle wind better

Very nice demonstration, thanks much for this. I own the Tello, plus the Xiaomi repeater 2 extender, allowing me to reach 100 ft (high) ! Awsome ! But I still refuse the bluetooth controler witch cause (in my mind) too much troubles with video quality and image stability. Your footages still amazingly steady and clear. Hard to beleive this has been taken with a Tello ! ? Bravo, anyway ! Alister from Boulogne Billancourt, France.

Great review so as a first drone would you recommend this over any thing else as that's about my budget and have seen other clones without the sensors or hubsan drones but do like your set up range and smooth video.

I love my Hubsans, and there's something to be said for using an actual controller (not a phone). That being said, this thing has been very reliable (more so than the comparable Hubsans where I go through motors like crazy). It's video is better than my $300 hubsan, and it's cheap enough I don't have to worry too much about it. Like photographers say, the best camera is the one you always have with you. That's how I feel about this, since it's so cheap, I tend to always take it along because I'm not afraid of it getting stolen, or overheating in a hot car.

jettlash1000 seemed it can point down a bit. Just not direct down. May I ask what’s the max altitude of the tello with WiFi extender? I don’t seem to recall anyone mentioning and I just don’t want to go by dji spec in case the WiFi extender gives the option to increase the potential altitude.

f22shift 10metres high within the app limit but you can download special app to set your own limit max being 30metres high

Even without the WiFi extender you can change the height limit. You can do it from TelloFPV if you use that app (I highly recommend it), or TALS (you can also find it on the play store) if you use the official Tello app. You can increase the altitude limit to up to 30 metres.
