Learn how to make better videos with story and grow an audience to watch them: geni.us/CreatorFilmSchool
@AlysiasArtStudio Жыл бұрын
The craziest thing about this video is that I started watching it a while ago and was pulled away from it and “lost” it!!! It just popped up and I’m finally able to watch it in its entirety!!! But a WILD realization is that the last time I started I was driving a Ford Taurus and NOW I’m driving a Jeep Gladiator as well 🤣🤣🤣 OMG! I never paid attention to that before I had one (never thought I’d have one but it found me lolol)!!!

Great video Jeven! Here is a quick recap of what he says: -Tell more stories, its about practice -Engaging the audience -There needs to be context -Build a structure 1. Set the scene 2. What is the challenge/goal? 3. Road blocks? 4. What happens? -A resolution 5. Consequences/payoffs -How did this change me or others? -How did it make me/others feel? -Watch more stories not just tutorials -How did the story teller implement the above bullet points? -Were there parts lacking? -Become a visual storyteller -Become a storyteller with the way that you shoot -Use different techniques: wide shots, closeups, mediums etc. -What is your videos goal? -What are some challenges that make it harder to achieve that goal?

OH! MY GOODNESS. I so love your studio set up with the large screen the clean office space. I'm in my 50's I only do videos and post on youtube for family memories. With my kid's school junk in my office and my wife being a science and math teacher her snake and bearded Dragon and stuff all over my office. I sometimes just can't focus on the video and content and story. So every time I see your studio set up I am in a trance just watching the things around you and how much space and how awesome it is. Oh yea, I forgot I love your content that's the real reason I watch. Thank you for all the tens of thousands of hours you have dedicated to your editing and content. yes, I am a subscriber and have been for several years.

Definitely learning this myself lately. The last few years I ignored telling people stories because I thought either they didn’t care, or that it was egotistical for me to do so, that maybe silence was always better. Who wants to listen to me? But now, I’m seeing that when you tell stories, you’re giving to the world. You’re enriching others. It builds trust, connection, and sometimes makes time dissolve, bringing us to the present in an creative and imaginative way. And people love that.

I wanted to drop a quick comment in regards to seeing stories vs. turtorials. I find this to be so true in regards to music production. You can watch all the tutorials on how to mix and master a song, but if you don't combine that with actually listening to music, you're missing the most important aspect of creating music, which is experience. Again, thank you for this video, you're dropping so many pearls of wisdon.

This was so helpful. I really appreciate it. Side note: this is even awesome from a healing perspective. After reading so many self help books, this video gave me an aha moment about just how one can create challenges and roadblocks from nowhere about themselves and if they belief the story enough it sticks and become real sometimes. Oh my goodness, I don't have to believe the story. Just enjoy the experience and then let it go. I do love the technique to story telling. I'm now interested in telling better stories.

Great video, great advice! I wish I had seen it earlier. I used to have a tendency of trying to make "perfect" stories. Really smooth, quick flow, everything in order, fast dynamic pacing. At that time it felt as something I had to pursue. And then I realised that when I discussed the video with my friends I would actually focus more on the things that happened behind the camera, those roadblock you are talking about. They appeared to be much more significant than all that "idilic and smooth" story telling. So now I try to make a mix of both. Smooth and light storytelling but at the same time not to be afraid to go off the script, break the "fourth wall", give some extra input that may not really fit in the story but still can serve as a really vaulable source of information. This helped a lot to make my stories a little bit more engaging and interesting.

This video is a god send for me. Been a while since anything truly inspired me or made me feel able to actually tell my story as I need to express it. I’ve hired people and nobody could help because they couldn’t see what I was envisioning and I could not clearly understand how to express it confidently. I was starting to downy myself and feel like I may be wasting my life just dreaming about something I wouldn’t ever be able to capture or make count for anything. It’s been a very isolating life for me, the past year or 2 especially. Would make an amazing movie and that’s why I was so dedicated to documenting it, thus far unsusccessfully. Or I just didn’t know what to do with the things I was capturing. I feel a lot more clear and you have a lifelong subscriber in me. You explain the elements, dynamics, and purpose behind telling a story so clearly. Really puts things into a perspective I feel like I can work through and eventually master. I always knew I went thru a lot for some reason and now with the videos you have generously made available to curious creators like me, I think I’m gonna be able to affectively capture my story and show the proper reverence for the things I have been experiencing. Thanks again. Outstanding channel and this is one of the best examples of why I feel like KZbin has become so dear to my personal development as a human being. If you have any technical courses, I’ll be signing up soon. Great teaching style and I can really benefit from the information because of your approach in how you choose to teach it.
