Do i need to shoot in log format in order to use your LUTS across pocket 3, camera etc?
@JevenDovey10 ай бұрын
No you don't have to shoot in LOG. The LUTs have 2 stages (2 LUTs you apply). First is a conversion from LOG to a Standard Look and then the 2nd is the creative look. If you shoot in a standard profile then you can just use the Creative look and skip the first conversion LUT.

I'm more impressed by your acting skills. When u show us what a beginner will do, u do look like a beginner by showing that confused expressiion and unskillful movement. When u show us what a pro will do, u look like a pro by showing skillful movement and confident, getting everything undercontrol expression

I agree, how is the beginner better looking than the pro?

I know you grind out these DJI how-to videos, but I think this was the best one yet, and I especially like San Juan Capistrano as backdrop. Have you done one specific video on nothing more than your Gimbel walk? I'd be up for watching.

How timely. I just received my Pocket 3 from UPS like 15 minutes ago. I used the heck out of my Pocket 2. I was really hoping for a dual lens on the Pocket 3 as that’s always been my biggest issue. The 9 shot rule, so true. A variety of shots, more to work with in post. Z-axis is definitely an issue. I’ve used the ScottyMakesStuff z-axis handle, which helps a bit. Keep in mind that things in the near foreground are much more noticeable and can’t really be stabilized adequately in post. I try to keep the walking shots higher to keep the ground plane elements out of frame. You can also shoot in 60p, walk slow and speed up in post if there are no people or moving elements.

@Ozpeter10 ай бұрын
Good advice. Also, if possible don't walk along a wall or fence etc beside you. The more you can walk in the open the better for z axis. Not always possible of course.

Serious question. I’m a beginner. I’ve almost ordered the Pocket 3 twice now, but I keep talking myself out of it. I have an iPhone 14 Pro, and I can get the DJI gimbal for $99 or $75 open box and have many of the same features as the Pocket 3. Should I jump in and get the pocket 3 or get a gimbal for my iPhone? 😭

I shot yesterday in Pittsburgh, Pa, where I live and while Ive seen this video before I forgot about some of your suggestions, like getting low (ooops). but there is always next week. Really really good tips and hints here! 👍 I can understand that with new gear you will want to test out a lot of the technical abilities - and that's important too. A good understanding of what your equipment can do, and what it can't is essential. I'm not one that does a lot of video, but I have some vague memories of what I once learned and studied: create a synopsis, move with bent knees, and always expect, at least, 10 times more of recording time compared to final product (most will end up on the cutting room floor anyway). Also, editing will always take longer than you think.

Thanks for all the new pocket 3 videos. I recently picked up one after watching your tutorial videos this is a great camera for Moto travel because it’s so compact and the video quality is excellent for such a small camera. Have you had any buggy issues? I keep having issues with the gimbal sticking when I flip on the screen to turn the camera on. It doesn’t fully engage to the start position. Also, when turning it off it sticks about a 1/4 turn before fully back in the carry position. Just curious if you’ve had any of these problems and if so, do you know if DJI is aware of any of these issues. Thanks. I also just got your luts from this video
