I’ve got an interesting piece of history, Doc’s Uncle John gave him a diamond stick pin before he moved out west. At some point he must of used the diamond as an ante or pawned it because, when his bag was sent home after his death the pin was there but the diamond was gone. The rascal.

Thanks for that Santee. I think the wearing of jewelery by working people for 'Sunday Best' was pretty common in other countries as well. Interestingly Roman women had two wedding rings. One was made of iron and one of gold. The iron ring was worn at home while the gold ring would be worn in public to impress people. Iron was also meant to symbolise strength and permanence. And the choice of the ring finger on the left hand was because it was thought that there was a vain ran from that finger directly to the heart. So a wedding ring on that finger symbolised love between the couple.

There was also an old west in Brazil, especially in the northeast, known as cangaço acting "supposedly" from 1776 until 1940. I wanted to pass on this information if you want to make a video about it ! : )

I did not know about the Navajo learning silver work from the Mexicans, we have Navajo in our blood line from two generations ago. Hope Dan has a speedy recovery.
