I pop the backs off my random button cover finds; glue a round magnet in the button spot; and, stick them on metal surfaces (fridge, filing drawers, etc.) Or, lot them up for sale 😊

I was 100% a button cover girl growing up in the 80s. I would have definitely worn the sun as a statement piece at the neckline or collar of a shirt. I may or may not have worn others with it.

Silverware is usually marked sterling (no need to test), silver plated marks or stainless. I make silverware jewelry and that spoon would be wonderful!!!! sell it separately!

Maybe, but my experience is that even the thrift stores throw out lots and lots of things that could be craft or used...so you have to get past the pricing group even in a thrift store...if the pricers don't think it is worth pricing, they throw it out. (A local thrift store has a trash dumpster that is emptied weekly..lots of trash.)

I have one of those stainless charm bracelets. I picked my charms and put it together myself in the 90s early 2000s. Still has meaning to me, very comfortable and easy to layer. I'll have to wear it today! I did notice immediately you say jewelry with an extra syllable than how I say it but appreciated it as a regional pronunciation. Potato - potahto. lol Who cares!

I believe that Lobster Claw Clasps became widely used in the mid 1990s so technically that bead necklace is over 20 years old and therefore Vintage!!

I use an ultra sonic machine for surgical instruments every day . For delicate or small items , we use a jewellery box . It’s a small Wie lidded box . Keeps the instruments in & pushes the nasties out with bubbles 😊

Question regarding the wood inlay penguin earring. How will you get the post off the back without too much damage to the wood? I know sometimes glue just pops loose, but sometimes it grips REALLY strongly. I would like to know how you do it because I want to be able to turn single earrings into pendants or brooches. Do you use a certain type of glue dissolver or would you just snip off the post and put the brooch clasp over the base of the post.
