Jewelry Making Tutorial: Tab Settings for Beginners

New to metal smithing? Here's a fun way to make settings for cabochons using basic skills with your jeweler's saw, metal forming tools and hammer.

Lots of great tips and solid technique. A trick I use to keep my Sharpie lines in place when cutting is to slap a piece of clear packing tape over the entire piece.

Copper tab settings no problem - sterling silver not so good - tabs tend to break.
