Thanks guys. I have got to join ATB asap. I'm watching (and liking, i must add) your videos in reverse which is very interesting. Around 1:12:00 in this one, you talking about adding aprons to the shop. Who'd have thought then that the aprons would be so popular as they are. I must get one.

You need to flair the bottom of the tube that’s inside the hole so it won’t pull out (do this by thinning it out on the inside of the bottom of the tube with a file ) then sand all of it together flush against the bottom with the big stone, then epoxy it in the hole , and epoxy the underside of the back plate of the smaller stone against the top of the bigger stone , this all so it won’t pull out and spin. Take Stone on Stone Setting with Michael Boyd on Interweave! That’s who I learned it from,and had no problems!

As far as stone on stone, take Stone on Stone Setting with Michael Boyd tutorial on INTERWEAVE. There’s more to it than just putting a tube in the hole. He teaches how to thin and flair the bottom of the tube so it won’t pull out, and how to epoxy it so it won’t spin or pull out. He’s known for his stone on stone settings, and I did it perfectly after first try.

Curved cuff question, can’t you back stone with that stuff that people back turquoise with, then grind that off instead of grind the stone? Or make step setting, and remove curve shape from bezel so it rests on the cuff. Not sure why that wasn’t mentioned,

Do you prefer to secure pieces you are going to solder together with wire, or with titanium clips, or use a third hand?

I’m inspired to attempt making a weighted eyeball ring...wouldn’t it be awesome if, as you lifted your hand, the eyelid would open, just like a baby doll? It could even have fake eyelashes tied on to it...creepy cool!
