I have wondered how to predetermine wire length for years. Thanks for telling how you do that. Is it possible to do a video on just that~determining lengths for necklaces~bracelets~anklets? Also~ do these simple bracelets need to be annealed/pickled? I'm so a newbie but want to learn THE RIGHT WAYS from the start. I feel you might be the one to teach me/us. Thanks so much in advance.

Hi Miriam! Beadalon makes a great bead reamer with an interchangeable tip. Then you can buy a wire rounding tip and change it out. Basically, you'll have two tools in one. A quick online search for "Beadalon Bead Reamer" should get you what you need. Just be sure to look for the one where the tips can be changed out!

Hi Suan. This is great. Can you use a one step looper or is the wire too thick? T hanks
@JewelSchool3 жыл бұрын
Hi Terri! Unfortunately the 1-step looper will only loop wire from 18ga to 24ga. Susan uses 16ga in this particular project.Plus, you'll need to make a loop that is slightly bigger than what the 1-step looper or the big step looper can make, which is 1.5mm and 3mm, respectively. Susan is using the larger side of the acculoop plier, which at the smallest is about 5mm. Here is a link to an acculoop plier set. www.jtv.com/product/acculoop-plier-set-incl-precision-square-and-precision-round-nose-pliers/JSTKIT153?mcid=XSOjsyt Hope this helps!!

Hi Would you recommend using gold filled wire to make hammer wire bangles? thanks
@JewelSchool3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Gold filled wire is a great option for someone who wants precious gold jewelry without the cost of solid gold. You run the risk of marring the plating when you hammer it, so just use your best judgement. You may want to hammer a small part of the wire as a test before making an entire project.

Love this! Thanks.
@clarinetkathleen3 жыл бұрын
Are the rounded parts of the bangles supposed to be flat after your hammer them on the mandrel?
@JewelSchool3 жыл бұрын
No. Just hammer lightly to help texturize the wire and get it back into shape. Hammering will also harden the wire, making it a bit more sturdy!
