I KNOW, Right?? That was MY comment (above)……but, unbelievably, the sale HAD to have been fairly recent, as she was born in 1926-and she lived to be 93.… (And one presumes her much-younger third husband would wait at LEAST 2-3 years after her death to auction off her personal jewelry, out of not wishing to appear too acquisitive)…

You are absolutely right, polished rocks, nothing more, it's only because people decide that certain rocks are better than others, based on nothing, same with polished metals, give any of these things to an animal and it will sniff it and walk away, maybe even using it to mark territory, the pearl of great price buried in the field is nothing of itself, it's what that pearl represents, honour, goodness and the access to the Kingdom above .

I usually don't care for turquoise, but that necklace is stunning. Sapphires and emeralds seem cloudy could just be the pictures. BUT why on earth would you ruin a precious stone by "carving" shapes in it? What a terrible offense to a natural stone.

Such a narcissistic woman! Has to adorn herself in jewels. I wonder if it made her feel more important. Never heard of the woman! Should have started giving back years sooner, instead of decking herself in jewels. Not impressed in the least with this woman!
