Hate crimes are disgusting but why is it that the Mayor's office and the Chicago media in general view this crime as so much more significant than the coverage they provide for teens/young children that are shot at and murdered daily in Chicago. If I were a young Black male of female growing up in Chicago there is no way that I would not notice the inequity, the callousness and/or lack of concern around the violence experienced by families of color.
