Let me debunk this. Surprisingly easy. In pre-modern societies at a time when EVERY state (not just the Muslims) was “organized by religion”, renouncing your state religion and adopting the religion of your state’s enemy was a POLITICAL statement (not just a religious one). It was tantamount to treason. It was seen as siding with the enemy with whom you’re actively at war. It is in this context, that apostasy laws should be understood. The apostasy laws of the Muslims were actually very lenient. More importantly though, you should really watch the video carefully. There’s a lot of nuance in it. He’s not just saying random things to rile people up. Take care.

That is, their breaking of the peace treaty and collaborating in trying to kill the Prophet and the Muslims. There’s absolutely nothing objectionable here. He arrested and executed war criminals. He’s responsible for an entire state and forgiving them would have led to their regrouping and launching further attacks. I mean, all this is REALLY straightforward. As for the particular sentence and who proposed it, yes. That’s what I meant. I didn’t mean the man was from Bani Qurayza and I wasn’t trying to suggest that he wasn’t a Muslim or saying anything about his ethnicity. In fact, if we were to do a DETAILED analysis of this particular event, further proofs could be extracted for why the Prophet ( upon him be blessings and peace) really was who he claimed to be. In Surah khaf a boy is ordered to be killed. Moses didn't understand why and he explained it was not from his own will but from the will of Allah. How do you explain that in the context of what you are saying?

It is still morally wrong to be done by a person. The man in this story is like natural disasters which can cause harm but happened due to wisdom know only to God. Prophet Moses (pbuh) reaction is the right reaction if you see someone doing this action. In Sharia, if you killed a person and claimed that God ordered you to do it, you would be still punished.

The story of the cave has 3 stories in it. One of the story is of Prophet Moses AS and prophet Khizr AS. They travelled together and 3 things happened . All were bad on surface level. But Prophet Khizr AS blessed with wisdom, longevity and limited knowledge of the future made decisions in light of its future ramifications. These were godly acts executed by Allah’s chosen messengers. The morale is of not everything which looks bad for you, is truly harmful and not everything which looks good id truly beneficial to you. The decision is Allah’s alone which is why we seek refuge in Allah’s mercy,seek guidance from him and bear bad times with sabr but always shukr. Moses did questioned Khidir because it goes to show it is against his laws and order to kill an innocent soul (Surah al-Kahfi verse 74). This is aligned to Surah al-Maidah verse 32. Khidir explained if he didn't kill the boy, the boy will overburden his parents beyond their ability with transgression and disbelief (kufr) which is a fate worse than death (Surah al-Kahfi verse 80) We do not know exactly the extremity of the overburdence which could lead to mental torture, depression, etc. Allah too has promised to replace the boy with a better descendant. (Surah al-Kahfi verse 81). Hence, there is no contradiction in the Wisdom of Allah Ta'ala in protecting human lives.

Having said that, scholars of tafsir speak about the boy actuality being a young adult and not a child and that he was deserving of the death penalty because of some crimes he had committed according to the law of the times.
