The Jews, Armenians and Iranians from Iran that I know love Persian people and Persian culture, and speak well of their neighbors, but do not have a high opinion of the Islamic Republic. They are not actively persecuted, but if they ever opened their mouth and contradicted government propaganda, they would land in jail or the grave. So, not by chance, over 80% of Jews and Christians have left Iran.

Judaism was founded in Iran, was it not? My biological father was a Jewish Iranian who unfortunately I've never had the chance to meet, nor have I ever met another Jewish-Iranian. I was raised in an English Christian household (on my mother's side), so welcome the chance to view videos such as this - connecting me to a part of my heritage I've never known. Fascinating. .

Is your Dad alive? If he us, have you ever tried to find him. These days some things are possible with the use of internet. Be proud of your heritage x
@StephanieStjames4886 жыл бұрын
RagsInHiding. Hi. Sadly, I've no idea. Over the years, i've tried to track him down (on what little information I have), but it's been like looking for a needle in a haystack! Very long complex story........ but my mother was married (to my English step-dad) when she began a year-long "love-affair" with my father. Needless to say, it was all hushed up, so as not to bring shame on the family. (My grandparents particularly were very racist/anti-Semitic.) I discovered the truth when I was 13, and endured a lot of negativity and abuse because of it. It's only now that i'm trying to learn more about my heritage, and be proud of it. x
@ucsdcommunity80995 жыл бұрын
Stevie, please do learn about your heritage. Judaism was founded in Israel, so it would be great if you could travel to Israel. Maybe look into a "Birthright" group trip. If you are Christian you can go with a church group. Israeli tour guides are very knowledgeable about all religions and cultures. Good luck !
