Thank you Rabbi. Although I am a Christian this lecture gradually makes me see that Judaism is more practical. All distortions about Judaism are phasing out.

Interestingly, even Christianity has a deep tradition of mysticism and meditation. This is found in some Catholic mystics, but the mysticism is particularly prominent in eastern Christianity in the orthodox churches. I highly recommend reading the writings of the desert fathers as well as Gregory of Nyssa and Isaac the Syrian.

Perhaps somewhat ironically, I had to keep consciously telling myself not to open other tabs while watching this, my hand kept going for that mouse. I feel like this lesson in mindfulness will stay with me. My favorite part was learning to receive a breath instead of taking one. The visualization at the end was great and something I will use in the future, just a little slower though!

34:21 Serious meditators should abandon focusing on the breath or a mantra as soon as they have gained the focus that that exercise is designed to impart. Otherwise meditation can become useless and even harmful. The problem with many popular yoga "meditation studios" is the teacher is not focused on G-d. Avoid such places.

Dear Rabbi Skobac, In acting theory, concentration or Kavanah is called “identifying your purpose”, i.e., in a staged scene (according to the character you are playing). I think I understand King Hezekiah, behavior on learning he was going to die soon 😂. One way is to imagine the desired outcomes of the prayer, such as being able to spend more time with your family or other benefits, which could be lengthy. You just assume the desired outcome has already happened (time itself being emergent from the universe, or illusory). That’s how I do and get my best results. Yes miracles happen from Gd! Very good lesson! 🙏🏻

Miriam, you should watch Rabbi Skobac's videos: A Rabbi Cross-Examines Christianity; Why Jesus Didn't Have To Die to Atone for Sin; The Real Messiah P#l,ll,lll; Scripture Twisting: How Missionaries Jews for Jesus Messianic Jewish Christians Distort Jewish Bible; Judaism vs Chritstianity: Parting the Ways, Zecariah 12:10 -Piercing a Messianic Illusion; and, Larry Levey's Jews for Judaism video "Former Jew For Jesus Speaks Out". These videos will help you escape the mess you're currently in. Meditate on that.

Richard Vass Not everyone. If this is what you see, what are you doing about it? I know I sound like an A-hole, but im not trying to be one. If you see people struggling and suffering, help them. Be the light of the world, teach them to overcome their obstacles and to better themselfs. Dont just feed the person by catching a fish for them, teach them how to fish.

We all want God's mercy, love, justice and righteousness....especially now...in times of final days. Interesting that we can "experience anything" as spiritual and meaningful.h Right at the very end.....I'm a Christian,....I've never had any discourse of hate of the Jewish people. God obviously loves the Jewish people; Jesus was the King of Jews. I believe that most people can have both extremes of hate and great love within them...it's up to each one of us to decide which way to move toward. Only God can know everything...to cast out "one subset of man"....is merely a human consideration - God doesn't do this....nor should any man to another.

This is what happens when you flee from the word of God ! You step into PAGANISM, practicing the way of the heathen ! That's me ! Well, I have the word of God the KJV so I don't practice the practices of my heathen kind, but the point is, how is your religion different then the heathens when YOU practice the SAME paganism ?
@ForeverTruthVV
@ForeverTruthVV 8 жыл бұрын
There is nothing pagan about thinking and being conscience at all times of your connection with the very Creator G-d that made you. IDK... you are insane. When are Jews going to learn that our forefathers were constantly aware of G-d..... that our Hashem even tells us to love with all our hearts, our souls and might.... that means everything including your thoughts. HELLO!
@PaperTrailsAnimation
@PaperTrailsAnimation 8 жыл бұрын
"times of your connection with the very Creator G-d that made you." You wont have any connection to God through worldly meditation practices ! Meditation is not this mind opening thing, meditation is really just thinking about God, at a given secluded moment.
@ForeverTruthVV
@ForeverTruthVV 8 жыл бұрын
Did you listen to the video? He is not teaching any worldly meditation practices. I agree with you but this is not what he is teaching. Do you not go outside at night and look at the sky and can you not see G-d's handiwork... do you not sit in awe at the beauty of His imagination. That is this meditation of which this Rabbi speaks. Is all that people do nowadays is see how much they can judge and put down another human being. That seems to be what you are about. Why not pray and learn to be kind with your words... then maybe you will draw closer to Hashem and understand of what this Rabbi speaks. Shalom IDK

@ForeverTruthVV

There are two kinds of Kabbalah, the Hollywood form in America is paganism..... but the real Kabbalah goes all the way back to Abraham.... the Prophets spoke in Kabbalah terms. King David wrote in Kabbalah terms. Kabbalah is the revealing of the receiving of very deep concepts from Hashem.
