Most of these survivors I’ve found have more etiquette and better manners than the interviewers!

There is a Memorial Stone dedicated to Aron Menczer right at Marc-Aurel-Street 5 in Vienna where the Jewish youth groups met (min. 43:12 of Mr Weiss's testimony). I live in Vienna and wanted to give this information. And - it is so shamefull of what had happened here, in Vienna and in Austria. So evil behaviour of people and country. It is hard to understand and to find words for it. So shamefull!

What a shame. The interviewer has a very condescending attitude towards this man and she comes across as arrogant. He did a great job recalling facts. Very detailed story line. I’m just grateful the interviewer didn’t slap him once or twice during the interview

I can't finish listening to this lovely man's interview, she just ruins it for me. She is simply way too abrasive, and just plain rude.

How dare she as him so rudely “Why?” When he said he had to leave his apartment. She drills him as if she doesn’t believe him ! Don’t they give these interviewers any training ?

Thank you for your extraordinary story and for helping to save all those children and for enduring and surviving! A noble and elegant man. I am only sorry that the part of the story about the Negev and the fate of the Palestinian arabs was not thought about with some empathy. As good and fine a man as Mr Weiss is, this blindness to another people's dreadful historical predicament and suffering introduced a sour note for me. Nationalism always hurts someone.

I agree, this interviewer is disgraceful. She has a really bad attitude and a condescending tone. The man did a wonderful job.

I agree. So many of these interviewers bark out their questions and have no empathy whatsoever with the survivors who must be nervous recalling their dreadful experiences of the holocaust.

Thank you so much for telling your story. I was amazed by your clear memory and the clarity of your narrative. I learned a lot about love and sacrifice in face of unimaginable hardship. I think it is a real cuorage not to surrender but to fight for your life day by day. Thank you for the light and modesty shining from you. The interviewer is ignorant about the world war history, may be this is the reason why she is so suspicious. Unpleasant

15:56 he used a German word, from his mother tongue. GUELTIG (valid) passport. Unfortunately interviewer couldnot pick it up. I wish interviewers did some prep regarding the country and that era a bit so understand context better. Also US has a history of slavery, segregation of black and white citizens. Some of her questions of disbelief is puzzling and ignorant as US has also these kind of discrimination.

Makes me sad to hear people speak about being persecuted and then refusing to join with people who are fighting to stop the persecution. He was 18 but instead of joining the partisans who risked their lives helping him and his mother along with countless other Jews to survive, he chose to continue allowing other young men to fight to protect him while he kept safe. If everyone stepped up you have to wonder how many months of fighting and millions of lives would have been saved.

All the children needed to be protected and led to safety. The roles of the adults and older teenagers was crucial in saving the children.

Many of the people interviewed are less than perfect people but then again they are human like all of us, with their own shortcomings, sometimes even their own prejudices. I even hear that in some interviewers, it can be subtle. They endured unimaginable horrors. People expect sainthood as a result but humans are not saints. Not all of us are tough enough to deal. Even fewer could be as tough as partisan fighters living in the woods or the very few directing uprisings in the desperate conditions of a camp... (like Sobibor)
