Shalom. I am late to this video. Thank you for helping people find G-d. I am becoming so confused out here...so I want to ask ..How do Jewish people feel about Noahides? And since I do not feel Christian, nor am I Jewish...so the default is Noahides..yes? If not, then I am nowhere..lost , correct?
@JewishEducationatHome Жыл бұрын
Hi! You are not lost at all, you believe in and are connected to the One G-d! And if you are intentionally following the 7 Noahide laws, then you would be a Noahide. Default is Noahide, but not necessarily… If you want to convert to Judaism and have that Jewish connection to G-d, with 613 mitzvos, then being a Noahide will just not satisfy you. My husband was not interested in being a Noahide at all, he just wanted to be Jewish. Until he converted, he was nowhere, and felt like he couldn’t breathe properly until he became Jewish. On the other hand, some people start out as Noahide, and then realize their mission is to be Jewish, so they convert. And some people decide they just love being Noahide, and stay that way, because being a Noahide is also fulfilling G-d’s purpose for non-Jews! Noahidism is a beautiful way to live, and Jewish people have so much respect for Noahides! We welcome and love Noahides, and there are organizations whose sole job is to help Noahides in any way they can!! I hope this helps :)

Hi, I am trying to find a good article for you about it online but it is hard to find the info... basically by a parent converting a child, the parent is making a vow that they will be raising the child Jewish, and teaching them to live as a Jew. When the child becomes bar/bat mitzvah (13/12), they officially finish the conversion when they can make the decision on their own to be Jewish, or not. These would be for adopted children or for parents who are converting.

Is the process or approach, different for those like myself who converted to Reform Judaism, but wants to convert to Orthodox. Thanx
@JewishEducationatHome3 жыл бұрын
Since a reform conversion is not a conversion, you would go through an Orthodox conversion like anyone else. :)

I had a question, I come from an Pakistani/Indian background so my parents wear salwar kameez. Just wanted to know when they convert to orthodox judaism do they need to change their clothing style (e.g. long skirts, head scarf instead of dubata etc?) :) Thank you so much!
@JewishEducationatHome2 жыл бұрын
There is no need to change your attire....Judaism is open to all attires....Yementie Jews bring their own attire to modern day judaism....everyone brings their own...as long as the attire is modest according to halacha there is no problem.....as a matter of fact my daughters wear something similar to the salwar kameez.

I’m sad bc I did not get notified of this live session. I have a question I wanted to ask! I am in the process of converting through conservative atm. My plan is to eventually go into orthodoxy, so conservative is just really a stepping stone. If I go orthodoxy later, this shouldn’t be a problem, correct? I am aware it won’t be considered a kosher conversion. Also, what costs are associated with converting through orthodoxy?
@JewishEducationatHome3 жыл бұрын
I will see if my husband can do another live session and answer these questions. I will make sure to post when the next livestream is. Orthodox conversions can cost a few thousand $!!!

I think the laws in Israel have changed since this video was made and any convert can make Aliyah now, they just can't marry an Orthodox Jew. That is my understanding.

It's a shame that the branches of Judaism have to put Reform Jews down...
@JewishEducationatHome Жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for your comment and chas v’shalom! Maybe you are referring to Reform conversions? (Not the people, the conversions) The reform and conservative conversions do not follow in the way that the Torah says a conversion to Judaism should be. Someone who genuinely wants to be part of the Jewish people for G-d should know the info before going through a conversion that spends a lot of time, money, and energy, but does not make you Jewish in the end. While both me and my husband are not so thrilled with the words “Reform” “Conservative” or “Orthodox,” these are the words that we have to understand the different ways of converting, and the only conversion to Judaism that is kosher would be what is called an “Orthodox conversion.” But chas v’shalom, no Jew or person should ever be put down, no matter how religious or not. Please let me know if you need me to clarify anything! I am sorry you took it this way, and sending much blessings to you. -Chana

I read in the Torah in several places what G-d requires for conversion, and I agree that there are things in some conversion processes that are left out, but if the individual person is doing what Torah says to convert, why can't they be accepted by the Orthodox movement? I truly believe they are accepted by Hashem. Sometimes an official Orthodox conversion is not possible

I'd actually like to see a video about how it feels to convert to a branch of Judaism which follows Kaballah which teaches that gentile souls come from a place of evil and gentiles are not capable of doing good for it's own sake.
@JewishEducationatHome3 жыл бұрын
Its a good question, and that part of chassidus is largely misunderstood.

Non-Jews are very important in the world, (as are Jew, as is EVERYONE). Every person on this planet is a creation from Hashem.
