SH-2 does it way better. Ironic as it was done on an single osc SH but the SH2 does sound nicer, I think BOC would have used the SH-2 if they'd had the choice.

Love my sh-09. Great sounding little synth. Such a two sided synth, sub osc mixed in or not.
@nikamota6 жыл бұрын
Excellent! My little 09 became a different beast when sent thru an effects unit,it sounded gorgeous,beautiful,frightening,effects are awesome and really bring sounds to life in any synth,even my Korg Poly 800 became a different beast altogether,happy days! Wish I'd never sold it (still got the Korg though)

Really started out with a bang, there. This thing has some serious balls if you let it, but at the same time you made it as gentile as a cool breeze. Normally I watch your demos and think, "Cool." - however I actually really (really) want one of these, now. 4:19-> pure gold

You should hear it on an SH-2 (basically same synth as SH-09 but with TWO VCOs!) Amazing sounding synth. SH-09 sounds great too but is always that 1 osc (+ sub) sound vs the 2+sub (3 osc moog like) sound that you can also dial back to just 1 osc for simpler stuff.

The Shockwaves soundtrack always stood out to me too as a kid, despite such a basic score, it worked. :-) Fantastic, really really itching for a sh-09 now.

What do you prefer, SH09 or SH2?? Congratulations for your eighties styles in the video quality and synth sounds..
@quarkyzarky6 жыл бұрын
SH-2 is a LOT better. The extra VCO makes a massive difference. It's like a minimoog. SH-09 is nice but a lot more limited and never sounds as warm/fat.

Wowwwww I don't think I ever noticed the shockwaves section despite having watched this many times over the years... in some ways, it works even better than the og korg 700 / 800 from the ost. Jexus, what FX did you use around 7m? Maybe it is long lost info but that repeating delay is so haunting...
@Jexus2 жыл бұрын
Hey:) I used a simple Lexicon delay + reverb unit.
@arnoriva14 жыл бұрын
Bravo! Your demo is fantastic. Thank you very much. At 12:18 it sound like your use a delay effect, i can ear the release of each note you´re playing...?! How is it possible? The best.

I wonder what distortion pedals he is using? People always say, “My synth doesn’t sound like this.” Well, he clearly has a collection of drive and distortion pedals, delays, reverb....doesn’t make it any less pleasant to listen to, but clearly many of the synths he demoes are running through mad fx.

good vid but ive never understood why anyone would buy an sh-09 over an sh-2? the sh-2 has 2 osc's so a much bigger sound, remove one of the osc's and you have an sh-9... somebody clarify for me
@donfernandez393510 жыл бұрын
price obviously.
@luisneitzke1066 жыл бұрын
Price and the fact that, depending on where you live, you may not cross paths with a SH-2 any time soon (and when you do - price). And it sounds nice. Not two oscillators nice, but nice nevertheless.
