Jezel is a psychiatric nurse practitioner who has been a nurse for over 23 years (since 1999). She obtained her Advanced Practice Degree 3 years ago and became certified in integrative mental health practices in October of 2022 and is currently enrolled in a Fellowship Program with Dr. Greenblatt at Psychiatry Redefined, the leader and pioneer of integrative psychiatry.
She shifted her practice from conventional psychiatry to taking an integrative/holistic approach when she saw a need to reduce harm and help patients taper off benzodiazepines.
She has now dedicated her practice to limiting patient harm by searching for root causes of mental illness, putting skills before pills, and helping patients to safely deprescribe.

Thank you for having me on your channel and FB live. I am glad we got to discuss some difficult, non-mainstream topics and with each conversation, we can make a change and spread the word of harm in conventional medicine and hope for those who have been injured. Keep doing what you are doing and God Bless 🙏🏼.

Angie and Jezel with information and guidance give people hope to live their lives after being seriously harmed. So many young people have been harmed in the schools, so many harmed after trauma that needed support and didn’t get correct support. I will continue to forward your work and experience to others! Keep doing what your doing. You are saving lives!

Jezel, thank you for listening to and believing your patients. I always admire those who haven’t been injured, but still believe this grim reality. I say this because I really don’t think I would have believed these harms were possible before my SSRI withdrawal/injury (I’m ashamed to admit this, but it’s the truth!) Angie, I appreciate you always asking guests to clarify things that can misconstrued by those in withdrawal as they may not be able to heal. It really shows just how much compassion you have for all of us still sick and suffering. I used to hear and read so much in early withdrawal that I interpreted as not being able to heal. I’m in a much better spot (18 months protracted), but I remember being so much more raw and convinced I was the exception; I would be THE one who didn’t heal. Thanks, ladies ❤

@@AngiePeacockMSWI found that part super super triggering when she said not everyone heals. I'm one of those complex cases. I hold on to your hope, but then hearing her day that sent me spiralling. I had to turn off 😭😭😭😭 I feel hopeless and doomed now 😭😭😭😭

I tapperd off Mitrazapine in 2019. Prior to taking Mitrazapine, I had an adverse reaction to Zoloft after taking 3 pills. It took 4 years to tapper off Mitrazapine. It took a while to heal. I have experienced PTSD from my tappering ordeal. But for the last 2 years I was feeling good. Recently I got triggered. Now I feel like I am going through WDS symptoms triggered by PTSD. Can this ever go away?

What if you have the methylation problem while coming off of lexapro/etc? Do we supplement or not while coming off? I have the gene mutation for b12

Everyone is different in how they can or can’t tolerate supplements. I wish there were a blanket answer but there just isn’t!

As Angie has stated though it may help, you may not be able to tolerate it due to being in withdrawal.

There are non Methylated types of B12 you can take like hydroxocobalamin.

I still can't find anyone how depakote affects Ativan and how to get off depakote. Perhaps Jezel knows?

@AngiePeacockMSW 7 ай бұрын
No one knows that for sure Mary. No one on this planet. You also have genetics and metabolism at play. The truth remains that you just have to deprescribe both as safe as you can if that’s what you want to do.

Do you beleive that you can heal from benzodiazepines while on others meds? For example seroquel and remeron?
@AngiePeacockMSW
@AngiePeacockMSW 2 ай бұрын
Yes I watch it happen often. However, I think we heal to a point. Those receptors would be repairing while others were still being blocked. So it depends on your goals and whether you are doing harm reduction or want off all the way or if you feel pretty good as you go and don’t want to go any further

@@AngiePeacockMSW thx so much for your content! I Listen very often as i m struggeling quiet hard! I want to jump off 50mg seroquel for sleep... i also took it as needed... everytime i vary in dosage of seroquel i get very sick and all symptomes flare up. I already didn't took seroquel for 2 months and then i took it again as a wave Hits! Maybe i stop seroquel totally and never touch it again

@@AngiePeacockMSW i will come off that shit as soon as possible, but at the Moment it looks unmakeable. Whenever i try to quit the 50mg of seroquel i get horrible symptomes ca one week later.... i m now 4,5 years in this shit! But off benzos since 19 months after cold turkey. So maybe a lot of my symptomes are still related to benzowithdrawal! Thx for your work!!!!
