I tried these and it just disintegrated in the machine. Maybe I didn't use enough polish?

Not sure. Maybe it had a ridge in the cut and it got caught? I haven’t had that happen (yet). I’m still experimenting with finding the “perfect” pads.

@@GamingRenewedLLC I had the same thing happen with the yellow JFJ pads and their people said it was because there wasn't enough compound on the first use. Who knows.

Hmm. Could be the reason. I’m heavy handed with mine lol. I guess i could see it getting dry and causing more friction and maybe it catches the pad and starts a run.

Yea I’m not sure why that happens. I have heard that over time the disc plate no longer is true anymore and starts to wobble as it turns. I’m not sure how long you have had yours, or maybe just got a bad one, if that could possibly be a cause of it. I tried a Gamecube disc without the adapter and that was the only time it happened to me. Of course you are not supposed to use Gamecube discs without the adapter so kind of on me 😂

Appreciate you showing how to use non official products with this machine. It kills me having to buy proprietary supplies and much prefer being able to buy things more widely available. Feels like the money is actually going into the quality of the product

Happy to help! Literally just made a new video showing Milwaukee pads as an option as well. You doing have to cut those either!

Thank you for this video - I got my Easy Pro Plus this week and just started experimenting with it this weekend on CDs and DVDs. Fortunately I'd seen your video in advance of buying the unit so I was prepared with the "gasket" idea. After a few discs with the stock pads they sent I'm off to Harbor Freight to grab some of those Bauers. So stoked about having a solution to help clean these discs up.

Just wanted to say that the new pad suggestion was a GAME CHANGER! I struggled for the longest time with tiny swirl marks and was never able to get a mirror finish on discs (especially on PS1 games) using the manufacturer pads (I already started using the Meguiars polishing compound and it helped somewhat....but nothing like the Bauer pads). Thank you again for sharing this info!

You have by far made the best videos on making the JFJ an actual useful product! I’ve struggled with the swirls (which drive my OCD crazy) and tried so many things and can’t seem to get it just right. I’m going to try out your method and hopefully start getting some nice looking discs. One question, how many discs would you say you can resurface with one pad and how many can you do with one bottle of PlastX?
@GamingRenewedLLC
@GamingRenewedLLC 7 ай бұрын
Thanks 🙏🏽. Yea either the Bauer or Milwaukee pads are a good option. Milwaukee you don’t have to cut if you don’t want to deal with cutting them to size. As for how many disks i can resurface on a pad, I’d say around 150 or so. Maybe 200. It really just depends on how bad the disks are. If you are doing 2mins a pop for a lot of disks, then you’re gonna get less disks overall out of the pad. But if you can get by with 20secs or 1min then yea around 200 would be a good estimate. So i use the PlastX and the Meguairs 205/210 polish compound interchangeably. But mostly the meguairs 205. I have been doing this for about a year now and literally am just running out of the 205 lol. It really lasts awhile and I’m heavy handed. Probably would’ve lasted longer if i had been using the water spray from the beginning, since you can run a lot less product when you spray the disc and pad with water too before you run it. Thanks for the support and i wish you the best with the JFJ 👍

Hi man! I’ve been following your JFJ easy pro videos, and really, really appreciate the detail you go into, and the engagement with answering commenter’s questions! I have a small reselling business and it’s finally time to get by own machine. I’ve looked into the eco pro 2 since I’ve heard a lot of negative things about the JFJ, but I really am not ready to drop 1k+ on a resurfacer. Your videos have shown me that the JFJ can produce quality finishes if used with the right materials. Definitely going to purchase one in the coming month! I do have one question though - I have a few discs that have previously been “resurfaced” by someone else that still have some heavier scratches and those “wavy” looking resurfacer scratches that likely came from something like a Disc Doctor. Have you tried resurfacing a previously resurfaced disc using the JFJ? What was the outcome? I don’t want to resurface a disc too much to the point the data corrupts. Any advice on this would be appreciated! Just subscribed - love your content, keep it up!
@GamingRenewedLLC
@GamingRenewedLLC 8 ай бұрын
Thanks! I really appreciate it. So for discs that are pretty bad off or seem to have been resurfaced but didn’t turn out good, you will probably have to start all the way at the coarse 600 grit sandpaper (10 secs), to the 1200 grit sandpaper (10 secs), then buffing pad (20 seconds to a 1 min, your choice), then finally the polishing pad for 1 min. Make sure you spray those sanding pads with water nice and good. You want to be sure you are wet sanding, even though the machine says not to. THROW AWAY THEIR INSTRUCTIONS 😂😂. I put up a video for resurfacing PS1 games that started at the 600 grit stage and shows how to use the water and why. Those same steps would apply for your scenario too. Also, last thing to consider, try and see if the disc will read before you start to resurface it. Whoever tried to resurface it before you may have ruined it with too much heat. Sometimes that gives that “wavy” look. If that happened you can’t likely save it. But still give it a shot with the JFJ and see if it comes around. Before I resurface games i always try to see if they read first. That way if they read before i resurface it and then it doesn’t after i know it was me lol. You may still mess up some discs once in a while. Don’t sweat it though. It happens. Especially with the worse off discs you try to save. Just keep learning and keep working at it.

So with this new pad, you don’t have to spray the pad with water or the disc cause it keeps heat down?
@GamingRenewedLLC
@GamingRenewedLLC 21 сағат бұрын
I always either spray the pad or the disc itself to help keep heat down and stop the compound from prematurely drying out. I normally spray the disc a couple times for buffing and polishing. I spray the sand paper with water when i sand and not the disc itself. Watch the video on my channel called “Trust the Process” it goes through my process in depth.

I'm excited to try this. Do you ever see those "swirls" on the disc like the JFJ pads & compound would sometimes give you? And do you ever get the "cloudy ring" near the center of the disc? And finally, does compound ever get injected into the gaps in the center ring and give you white residue?
@GamingRenewedLLC
@GamingRenewedLLC 8 ай бұрын
So i got the swirls with the jfj pads usually from using the buffing white pad they give you. Usually the yellow polish pad would take it out. Usually but not always. Their buffing pad is a little on the stiff side in my opinion. It shouldn’t be that abrasive. The cloudy ring happens if you don’t use something between the disc and the black screw on retainer. I usually use a microfiber cloth and cut it to the size of the ring. Then cut a hole in the middle for the stud to go through. That stops it from happening. Some residue may get under it, but it wipes off without damaging the disc. Yes. Sometimes compound will get in the center of the disc and also around the edges too. I just spray some disc cleaner (i will add a link for you in description) to help lift it off and wipe it away with a microfiber cloth, then use a different one to wipe off any residuals left over.

i brought one of these about a year ago on amazon, in the listing it said 220v but i got a 110v delivered, so i had to buy a convertor, after running it for 5 minutes the machine decided to start smoking and suddenly stopped working, i was lucky to get a full refund, from seller Anyway after the redund they told me not to return the machine but to keep it, as it would cost them more to send refund and refund my shipping costs, and i was sent the £365 refund. I was never able to find anyone who could repair it, i email JFJ and they never responded, bad customer support there, anyway yesterday1st ,july 2024, i was lucky to obtain a 2nd jfj machine for £110 from ebay, it has no cleaning stuff or pads, but i have them all from my old machine, Those pad you show in video i cant get in the UK, so looking for something else. Good video by the way, enjoyed it.

Any difference between plastx and ultimate polish compound?
@GamingRenewedLLC
@GamingRenewedLLC 7 ай бұрын
Honestly they are interchangeable IMO. Only real difference is that the plastx doesn’t get hard and clog up in the top lol. Granted if you close the top on the polish compound it wouldn’t either but thats asking an awful lot of me IMO 😂😂.

@@GamingRenewedLLC can you use Car Scratch remover compound .?
@GamingRenewedLLC
@GamingRenewedLLC 6 ай бұрын
I’ve never used it so really can’t say. However, usually any compound that’s good for clear coat buffing and polishing is safe to use on most discs. The clear coat on paint and the clear coat on discs are extremely similar.

I know how to polish a car. My suggestions are; You put way to much polishing compound. I think less polish, medium foam pad and 20 seconds would be sweet spot. You should clean your pad after use. Your pads will last x10 longer. Cleaning liquid use just water with %30 isopropyl alcohol.
