There’s something so relaxing, calming about watching an ABC Friday evening 1983 documentary program straight through with commercials exactly as it originally aired.

TRUE. I AM FROM THAILAND. I LOVE PRESIDENT JOHN F. KENNEDY So much. DURING HIS PRESIDENCY SO MANY COUNTRIES ON THIS PLANET EARTH WERE RAPIDLY,DEEPLY AND LARGELY DEVELOPED IN WHICH NOBODY COULD DO. JFK HELPED UNDERDEVELOPMENT COUNTRIES,ESP. THAILAND,MY COUNTRY. THE FIRSTEVER LARGE UPCOUNTRIES DEVELOPMENT AND Rural Universities established ,namely, Khonkaen University(KKU) founded in 1962 by Field Marshal Sarit Thanarat upon Support of President John F. Kennedy,USA., Peace Corps in a large scale set up, Rural accelerated organization initiated, all laterite roads that had caused a high rate of fatality resulting from road dust blown up, poor visibility occurred inevitably. Thailand has been in debt to John F. Kennedy. Thai people will never forget you and your family. Farewell and R.I.P. Mr. President. We know now who killed the US young, handsome, charismatic President of the USA. The ghost faced lbj, the poppy bush, mr.watergatescandal nixon, all killers of our beloved President,JFK. R.I.P. JFK.

I was in elementary school when someone motioned our teacher to leave the room. When she came back she was crying. Only time I ever saw a teacher cry. She told us we were leaving school early and had no homework. Barry asked why? I was confident he would ask as that was his way, questioned everything; this time I was happy to have a Barry in class. Mrs Steppenwolf told us the President had been assassinated. He was dead. A lot of us were military brats and on the bus the older ones openly discussed how this could affect our dads. War was even mentioned. My dad had been on a remote duty for months. I was looking forward to him coming home and didn’t want him to have to stay away even longer especially at war. Funny how our lives as kids gave us different perspectives of this horrendous event in history.

I remember watching this when it originally aired -it is amazing to watch it again. Back then, although 20 years had passed since he had been killed it seemed like 50 years had gone by because so nany things had happened in the interim. Now that over 60 years have gone by - I can more clearly see what a huge loss the entire world suffered. It would be a better world had he lived. RIP JFK ☮️💟

I'm also enjoying the old commercials, in comparison to the commercials of today. I remember both 83 & 88 with the programs on TV about the Kennedys. The interesting part is that the family always said 'we want to remember his life, not his death, which is understandable, yet these shows were always in November, rather than May, food for thought I guess.

In Memory of JFK : O Captain! My Captain! BY WALT WHITMAN O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done, The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won, The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting, While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring; But O heart! heart! heart! O the bleeding drops of red, Where on the deck my Captain lies, Fallen cold and dead. O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells; Rise up-for you the flag is flung-for you the bugle trills, For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths-for you the shores a-crowding, For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning; Here Captain! dear father! This arm beneath your head! It is some dream that on the deck, You’ve fallen cold and dead. My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still, My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will, The ship is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done, From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won; Exult O shores, and ring O bells! But I with mournful tread, Walk the deck my Captain lies, Fallen cold and dead.

JFK was a great man, a strong president, dealing with Cuba, Soviets, Integration, he did greatly for a young Senator elected leader of his country considering how he had to deal with the warmongering Ike/Nixon years of piling up wars to come, building up nuclear weapons (all the while Eisenhower "warned of military build-up," he was the one who did it,) and he supported his fascist team, the Dulles brothers...Allen & John Foster.)
