JFK in San Antonio Nov. 21, 1963
President John F. Kennedy's motorcade cruises through San Antonio, Texas on Nov. 21, 1963, the day before he was assassinated in Dallas. Riding in the convertible with John F. Kennedy and the first lady Jackie were Texas Governor John B. Connally Jr. and his wife Nellie Connally. President Kennedy was scheduled to visit Austin on November 23rd had he not been fatally shot in Dallas the previous day. This home movie footage was shot by Joseph A. Di Menno when he took his wife Rae G. Di Menno and daughters Jo Rae and Theresa to see this historic event. The footage is very reminiscent of the famous Zapruder film which was shot on the day of his assassination, it is also of similar length (20 seconds) and shot on standard 8 mm Kodachrome II safety film.
