Incredible work Caleb! A little thing like the leg moving away when aiming down, can make a character and it's animation feel so much more alive.

Love your work. What do you think of Death Stranding's animation system and the way the character realistically moves around and balances itself on uneven surfaces (when it doesn't giltch out)? Maybe that could give you some inspiration for future projects.

Been playing around with v4 and gotta say u really outdid yourself, great job! But there doesnt seem to be pivoting when changing directions anymore, we these removed?

When I look at the debug filter on the dedicated server, the character doesn't ever move. Does somebody know why?

You have a mind for this kind of stuff and it shows. I suspect you'll be doing AAA development and leading teams of people in the end. You're young and still in college right?

Hey man, great work, i have a question about you "advanced locomotion system v3". Been trying to use this for a shooter game first person but wen walking diagonally (pressing "forward" and "left" at the same time) the character turn completely to the target direction but since hes holding a gun and looking forward i would like him to keep the upper body straight. How do you think this could be achieved with your system, been trying out stuff like blending animations from upper body and lower body but got not so good results

Tbh I think that 3rd step doesn't look bad, looks as if the character's just fiddling around to find the right place to put their foot in.

The additive animations cause the engine to crash when trying to Retarget the animation blueprint, no idea what to do about that for my character

that is pretty sweet :D maybe moving the bone position in a smooth curve, using the distance and time calc to move as fast as needed with accel and deaccel, might give a cleaner look ^^ don't know if it is possible to do like that but in case ^^

Maybe, but I feel like that could also get too complex for what's needed...But I do use an anim curve to drive the blending out of the locked position for each foot, so you still can have a fair amount of control. And, play rates and blend times can all be adjusted as well.
