@@JForrestEnglish Good , Morning my loving Teacher!!! ♥️
@Ari38703 күн бұрын
Hi Jennifer! Thanks! Right on, learning individual words won't help much. A much better way to learn is to study how they are used in sentences. Moreover, many set phrases are frequently used in everyday English. I've noticed that the step from intermediate level to advanced level is by far the most demanding one. In my view, it's much easier to get from beginner to upper intermediate level than from upper intermediate to advanced level. That being said, I'm determined to get there eventually. My Achilles' heel is how to use some prepositions. Sometimes in English language conversations, I simply don't know the right preposition. However, I don't let myself get stuck but continue the conversation. Usually, the other party understands what I mean. So true! It's so difficult to understand what the other person is saying if pronunciation is poor. I've experienced that kind of situations, too, and they are annoying! In my book, watching for example sitcoms is a good way to learn more everyday English and get to know cultural nuances. By the way, that study plan sounds very good and is also comprehensive.

I don't know why I'm so obsessed with grammar-maybe it's because I've never focused solely on it. As you said, I'm not happy with how I use prepositions in sentences. My personality might also contribute to my tendency not to overlook small mistakes. It's time to help myself in a different way. Thanks for sharing!
@JForrestEnglish9 күн бұрын
I think it's also because language teachers and exams focus so much on it. I'm part of this problem, I know it. I'm sorry for that!

I noticed you have associated English with the American Flag. I don’t want to break the news for you but English did not originate in the USA. This sort of thing may explain why some Americans do not know what language they speak in England
