Guys, I am pretty sure there is no ‘is’ in asl. You either spell it out, or dont do anything for it so basically just do ‘hi, my name ____’ or... ‘hi my name i.s ____’ as in spelling ‘is’ out,

My cousin is deaf and uses ASL. It’s a whole different language than English, with different grammar structure and rules. You can often see this with people who’s first language is ASL, when they write in English they will leave out things like the “is” in this sentence because they don’t use it that way in ASL. Sorry I tried to explain this the best I could, I apologize if it doesn’t make sense

I just started working again with the Census Bureau in NYC out in the field, and I realized that I may meet many people who are hearing impaired, so I learned the ASL alphabet today. And I learned how to sign, my name, and how to say, "hello, my name is ..., what is your name?" And I am learning other ASL such as, "what?", "old", "new", time, and, "nice to meet you!"
