5 Fundamental Elements That Will Help You Get Your Horses More Broke!!
Programming a horse to be broke for everyone to ride is very similar that programming a car as far as Neutral, Steering, Breaking and Accelerating goes. In this video I break down this concept with analogies and tips that will hopefully help you adjust your compass and make you end product clear in your mind.
For the FULL Video Series on this topic and more, visit: thecomfortzone.vhx.tv
As a special treat, for the 5th Elements, I've added an excerpt from my interview of professional horseman Warwick Schiller of Warwick Schiller Horsemanship. I've learned so much from this interview I did a couple years ago and the videos are still a major point of reference when I feel I can use a boost of horsemanship sense.

Mine is fine with a mounting block but we're working at standing while mounting from the ground, she doesn't "take off" but will walk once you are fully on her back. It's also a pet peeve of mine and is a main project right now

@@HoldingMoneyRansom Something I was taught was to have the horse bend towards you while mounting. If the horse is still moving a lot when its head is bent like that, then it's likely an issue that needs to be solved before you get on, whether it be poor saddle fit, the horse not being ready and getting scared, etc. Usually though, any horse will stand still if you just have them bend while you mount. If they try spin in a circle with the bent head since they can't really move forward, just move with them, don't try to mount until they're calm, let them move and let them realize they're okay but they have to stand still

In Reining it’s where you build speed in a straight line down the arena and do a sliding stop. In cow horse it’s where you run down the fence and turn a cow around. In trail riding it’s where the horse knows it’s the last stretch back to the barn and takes off and runs down to it 😉

It's a main project on my mare right now to stand while getting on from the ground, she's fine when held or on a mounting block but is uncomfortable from the ground. Shes been a lot of work and I feel I have no progress but it's drastic looking back.
