Fun video. It's nice to see the cross over and the making of an all around Ranch riding horse. He's a beauty. Jacqueline is quite the horsewoman.

We LOVE the Ranch Riding here in Wisconsin & Minnesota! Great to see it getting some coverage from you! Question: Jacqueline said it's ok to post or stand for extended trot & do whichever best shows your horse. If we choose to post, how important is it that we post on the correct diagonal? This has been a topic of much discussion in my area. Would appreciate input from you both!

Emily, I do believe if you're going to post, it's important to stay on the correct diagonal. Most of the time, it won't matter so much. But the better you get, and the bigger the shows you attend, judges have to start splitting hairs to pick a champion. So when it comes down to the wire, I think being "correct" in every area does matter. However, as mentioned before, posting or standing really is a matter of personal preference, and there are different riders at the top levels who do each very well.

Thanks for sharing! I met you at the APHA world show (I’m extremely awkward and I apologize lol) and only got to ride my new SGW mare three times before I took her into the pen that week. Also my first time doing any ranch riding ha! Anyway, she’s going to be my reiner but this video has really gotten me more interested in the ranch riding. Jacqueline’s got some great knowledge and I’ve went and subscribed to her, too! I’ve learned so much from your channel and I’m excited to add some more tools to my toolbox with Jacqueline’s channel

Starky is a pretty cool horse. I think he'll excel under your training, regardless of the direction you choose to take him!
