Thanks again for your videos on leather works. Great choose on your new grinder. The grinder sound sounds low per video. I am a tool and die maker by trade and I appreciate your trade. You have a nice smile, and I like seeing your dog…

Thank you so much for this video!! I got the pattern and made it for myself a couple of days ago!! This being one of my first leather works it's not perfect but it was really easy to follow along!

Just took a look on weaver. They have a C.S. Osborne leather working hammer, but it doesn't look like it has the engraving yours does. Was that something you did separately?
@JHLeather3 жыл бұрын
My friends got it for me for my 21st birthday which was a good few years ago but I'm sure it was weaver.

This might be the most practical wallet design (imho) I've seen so far. Love it! Thank you for this great tutorial. I've had several "revelations" :D watching it and definitely learned a lot. I have one small (and probably silly) question, if I may. In the beginning, you're transferring some of the patterns onto the flesh side of the leather using a pen (2:37). I was just wondering, is there a reason for that, or is it personal preference? Usually I've seen people transfer the patterns by scratching with an awl onto grain side. Thank you!
@JHLeather Жыл бұрын
The leather that I used to make this wallet has a very prominent grain, and it can be hard to see your lines when on the grain side using an awl. For leather like that, I find it easier to mark on the flesh side 👍

Lovely wallet! I really like it because unlike many hand-made ones there's a lot of pockets, so it's one I could actually use 😀

So, leather craft, sailing and mountain biking. All my favourite things. I may have missed the leather choice. Is it goat-skin?

Noon question. Why is glue used when it is being stitched anyway? I see it is common to use glue but don’t know why. Thank you for the awesome vid 🙏
@JHLeather3 жыл бұрын
It's to hold everything where it needs to be so you can accurately mark it and stitch it 👍

I love this pattern and I love even more how clear your video is. I want to purchase the file from your site to make my own but I have a question: Can your pdf files with the pattern be opened in Illustrator? I would like to personalize a bit the design and use the pattern to laser cut the design into leather. I'm asking because I don't want to pay for the design only to find out that it can't be opened in Illustrator (It happened to me a while ago with a $35USD pattern :( )

Hi, thanks for the great video. I’m wondering if you know if it’s possible to buy a small tin(?) Of the contact adhesive you recommend? I can only find 5 litre tins. Many thanks

If I don't want the note section, can I just add another layer to the inner wallet to cover the stitching of the card pockets? I need to find a pattern that is for a few cards and a coin pocket and this is a close I can get to what I'm after. Cheers
@JHLeather3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can just stitch the inner section and outer together fully and thus get rid of the notes section

You know it's easier to print to card stock directly instead of printing to regular paper, then gluing to cardstock. You eliminate a step, and personally I never liked the glue sticks as they always seem to dry out when I need them.
@JHLeather3 жыл бұрын
It sure is but, the only card I have is A1 sized so won't fit into my printer....
