Randy California was the guitarist in Spirit; he was tweaking his own gear as a teen in the 60’s when Hendrix asked him to join his band in NYC, he was too young though. I was fortunate to catch Spirit in the San Diego Stadium parking lot for 1 dollar in the 80’s. Randy played a Purple FrankenStrat and when he lit into his solos the air became rarified. His equally brilliant stepfather Ed Cassidy was also something to behold on drums, one of a kind. Fans of fuzz and Rock in general should deep dive into the first four Spirit albums, but start backwards. 😉music.kzbin.info/www/bejne/ol6Vcmp8nK2ratU&feature=share

You have a great personality, you're happy to share knowledge and have turned your hobbies and interested into a successful business and share what you live and breath with anyone who is willing to listen VIA KZbin. You own a pedal company and you're more than happy to preach other companies pedals and share what makes it special and give a nice example of it in action. You give great history and I love listening to your vids. I just imagine this Imelda Marcos tier of pedal collecting going on at your place. Which helps familiarize with whats out there. It's always a treat to listen to what you have to share. I'm glad you showed off their tremolo pedal. There's just something magical about it and it shows on your demo. I picked it out of many good tremolo pedals I had in hand including the Demeter Tremulator, Boss TR-2, JHS-modded TR-2, Audio Source Vertigo, EHX Pulsar + many others.

I first heard My Bloody Valentine in "Lost in Translation" and have loved them ever since. Still think their name is bad, though. Oh well!

it's really disappointing how stupid their name is but ya know if someone can't get past the name, shoegaze just isn't for them.

There are two types of people in the world. People who really enjoy different choruses, and people with invalid opinions.

I'm starting to think JHS was just started so he could buy pedals as a business expense. Dec. showing a profit for the year. Buy a couple new computers and a shit load of pedals.

I have an original Micro-Vibe, it’s never coming off my board... unless that little lightbulb for the photocells in the circuit needs replacing... then it’s going right back on again. Soundtrack band... not quite from a movie, but I really got into Death Cab for Cutie because they kept playing their songs on The O.C., then I saw them at this free street concert in Coney Island and starting buying their albums... the next gig I saw them was at Radio City Music Hall... I’d say that’s quite a leap from a street by the boardwalk to one of the best sounding spaces in town!

I can tell you're from Alabama by the way you say "still" instead of "steel". I never realized this was a thing until I moved out of the south people commented on my accent.

They're not pronounced the same?

Alabamian here and it's "water" for me. Everyone says water slightly different but people from the south sound like they're throwing a "u" in it. Some folks around here actually say wuter... I actually say water but to yanks it sounds like wadder. I think Josh is from Mississippi, and if he is bless his heart and props to surviving and becoming successful.

I love your breakdown of other brands. Shows that its more then just pushing your products. Its a love of the art and pedal worship. Keep up the good content.

Sound track wise - heard Hendrix probably before but when Waynes World came out 'Foxey Lady' made me laugh but also made a statement- what a tune. What a series of videos this is. Learning a lot.
