Something else to consider, is that a Monk's "Diffuse Magic" can get rid of the debuff from the slime pools. Our group has a Monk Healer and Monk tank, so while position the pools is still important, its not as important for us. We each other them swap out and eat 3-5 pools depending on the time in the fight, the duration left, and their cooldowns. Our tank likes to eat up 6-7 because of his ability to take less damage, and combine it with my Anti-Magic Zone to help the damage on one.

Hi fatboss. i see that one of your tanks (Nimtaz) is using 2 elixirs rather than a pure stam flask. i nomally go for the pure stam just for the extra health as i find this can be helpful in situations where im taking a fair amount of damage. is it more essential to use the 2 elixirs (think from the icons, its haste and armor ones) rather than the stamina flasks? im a paladin tank. ilv 522, Silistring from Silvermoon EU. any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks :D

We 3 healed this because the dps requirements were low enough that we didn't need 6 dps (2 healing is easily possible but 3 is just a bit safer). The rogue was the only dps left on the platform while the ele sham hunter boomkin and mage jumped to nests with the hpala/disc priest. I wasn't really paying attention but I think the tank jumped down to the 3rd nest so he could get a feather so he could fly to upper nests and (as he was a dk) use the fly to avoid the downdraft mechanic.

Hi guys, my guild recently reached this as progression and we were wondering, are the spawns of nest guardians always the same or are they randomized each time? Because if the answer is the former, only group two ever seems to get a nest guardian for us until nest 12. Is anyone able to clarify this? Thanks.

My guild just killed this boss and on number 7 the tank was required for the aoe dps (I am a brewmaster so my dps is nuts) and it really helped, the adds were close to becoming fledgelings....It was tight (my guilds average ilvl was 514 when we got this kill however I was 521)

The fights dps and healing requirements are extremely low compared to most if you execute the fight correctly. The main difficulty is in doing the nests correctly which needs organisation but once people know what to do (aka when to go to which nest) its overall an easy fight.

Warning: Dont kill the eggs too fast on nest nr 1. If the hatchlings dont get to eat the food it will stay there until the 7th nest activates and they will use the food immediately and you'll have juveniles in a matter of seconds. This cost our guild 3hour of time to find out :/

@FatbossTV so did you 2 or 3 heal this? What dos did you always leave on the platform? Why send the tank down to the 3rd nest (lower one) without an add? What do you do on the later nests like five and six upper? Since theres no add, did u send a dps in place?

Haste/Armor elixir are better on physical damage fights aslong as your health isn't too low and die from a attack such as a talon rake. The haste will help with SotR uptime by a tiny bit and about a 1-2% dmg reduction from the armor.

We weren't really on the fight that long at all :p We had quite a bit of bad luck causing us to miss a load of time (i.e. priest had to afk for 2 hours when we were meant to be progressing and we didn't have anyone to replace him with)

Hmm, I set up our nest rotations based on this chart, but there aren't nearly as many nests with guardians as you showed here. Can anyone give an update for which nests actually have guardians?

Lol just wondering...you said this was one of the easier fights on heroic...but you had to make a table to make it less difficult, am I the only one that thinks that it is a hard boss?

or soak loads -> and then ams before the debuff runs out :) and you wont get the damage increase so you can soak like 4-6 easy and then just ams and do again like 20 secs later :)

The reason you need him is cuz you kill the eggs/birds on nest nr1 to fast so the food is left un-eaten and then gets instantly used when nest nr 7 spawns in "old nest nr 1"

If you had to choose from the upper nest, if you miss the ledge, would you choose fall off and stay out of fight for 10 seconds? Or would you use a feather?

Nope, happened in HC for us, we sent down 3 DPS + healer, everyone just bursted down so the food was left there, we had juvenlies from nest 7 in mere seconds.

you dont need tank in nest 1,3,5,6,7,9 and 11. waste of dps on boss let him stay and hit boss. in nest 12 tank from group 2 can come and tank guardian.

Quick questions. Which tank pulls the boss tank 1 or 2. We were having trouble getting the talon rake rotation to line up with the nests.

They probably mean you don't need massive amounts of DPS and loads of healing, its just down to getting the tactics right and your fine.

Dangerdolan has a guide that is literally a minute and a half long, skips all the fluff bullshit and has what groups to break up into and when they need to jump. Very easy to follow.

Extra tip, if you have a monk tank, it will help alot for this fight. the dot on the tank gets applied on succesfull melee attacks, and monktanks are ofc dodge tanks, mitigating alot of that damage. I guess Druids are pretty decent tanks aswell. Monks can also take 4 stacks of Talon Rake, with Zen Meditation on the 4th one:)

You are doing really good work over there, so thank you straightaway. But additionally there are some things to consider to ease the boss even more. Depending on your nest it can be possible to fly from a lower nest just a bit later than you would normally do, to get a buff with your first feather aswell. Secondly this also applies to some of the upper nests - be there bit later, but with doubled damage. And last but not least the buff also applies to healing (but just 40%ish).

A tip for Death Knights (at least me as a tank) are able to soak puddles without getting the debuff. Run into the puddle, as the green slime icon appears, AMS and it should get absorbed without you recieving the stack.
