江ノ島電鉄前面展望 鎌倉→江ノ島 ＜cabview Japanrail Enoshima Railway Kamakura Sta.→Enoshima Sta.＞

A day in March 2024. The weather was nice, so I went to Enoshima Electric Railway. I took a video of the cab view from Kamakura Station to Enoshima Station in the 300-class EMU, which is the oldest oldtimer on this line.
The 300 type was manufactured in 1960. I thought I'd be able to enjoy the sound of an old train running, but the glass behind the driver's cab was shaking a lot (which I wasn't expecting (/・ω・)/), and the screen was shaking, As a result, the camera was out of focus in some places. Please be aware that old trains tend to shake. m(__)m.
I have taken cab views on this line before, and the track layout has not changed. This time, the image quality is better than last time, and the screen angle is wider. Because of this, the front pillar of the car is included, but I was able to capture the ocean view a little wider.
Along the way, you can hear a girl's voice saying "Onaka suita".
Don't worry. "Onaka suita" means "I'm hungry."
What did her mother treat her to after this?
On this trip, I didn't meet any children waving at the train, but there were many people taking pictures of the train with their smartphones. The coming warm season. I'm sure more people will take pictures of trains in the same way.

Probably due to the slow response of the braking system. All vehicles other than this 300 series were manufactured after the 1980s, so there is a gap of 20 years. Shouldn't the driver be careful?

Very very nice locations and video 👍🤗 I like this railroad since I discovered it through a KZbin suggestion - and fall in love immediately 🥰 It‘s like a tramway inside a big city, but connects different towns 😊 Randomly yesterday evening I watched on Netflix the japanese anime „Your Voice: Kimikoe (Original:きみの声をとどけたい Kimi no Koe wo Todoketai)“… and what can I say: the railway in the film (the father of one of the main characters is even a train driver) reminds me very much of the Enoshima line 🙄🤔 - and as research on Wikipedia showed, some places from this area were actually used as a template ! 🤗 Many greetings 🖖

As you point out, this line has a lot of stage props. The proximity to the sea, the section that runs on the road surface, and the proximity to the historic town of Kamakura all combined to make it an attractive route. About 50 years ago, there were many discussions about abolishing this line, but I don't think it will ever be abolished.

In the past, many plans were made to remove the line, and each time the decommissioning of the line was denied.As the number of cars increased, traffic jams occurred, and the railway was considered more convenient. The small train that runs slowly is now a symbol of this area. Without this train, the area would lose its charm. There will be riots. (^-^)

OK, I have a question... At around the 0:45 mark, there is a signal on the pole that is shaped like a pentagon, with 5 lights on it. The same type of signal is visible many times in this video. And I have seen these signals many times in other videos. But have never seen one that is lit. What are they for? TIA!.

It is a Obstruction-warning signal.　This signal lights up and rotates when there is danger ahead due to traffic or weather. If it's not lit, it means safe.
