Would love to also see some of the more senior staff be promoted on the KZbin channel instead of always seeing these new faces, as they haven't stuck around with Cathay for the longest! Would also love to see Cathay drop these cheap cartoony looking graphics, let's maintain the premium airline status that has been with the airline for as long as it is been in operation - take note of how Singapore Airlines and other premium airlines are making ads.

Really amazing when watch at first sight, but wait...how come a person can simply change the career so fast from art designer to air hostess then now pilot cadet that requires different academic background ? Hopefully the ads can be more real life and the ads director does not come from tvb screenwriter......

Why? You can put Cathay Pacific rival since 1946 PR to the bottom. For my mother she paid 4100 for the three of them yet CX has $909 for the trio

Hi @cathaypacific. I've been trying to reach out to apply for the cadet pilot program. However, I'm not a HK citizen or permanent resident. Are there any steps I could take to get into the program? I do not mind a bonded training agreement. Thanks.

I should add that I have a First-Class degree in an engineering field and meet all requirements apart from the Residency/Citizenship. I'm also comfortable with being based anywhere, I believe in exploring.

Cathay doesn't accept non HK residents for the cadet program. So your options would either obtain residency in HK (7 years living and working there) or obtain your pilot licenses and start working elsewhere until you gain enough experience to apply as a direct entry Second Officer.

@@captainfracass231 Yep and it kinda makes sense. They will spend HK$1M+ to train someone with no experience to become a second officer, so they want people who will stay in HK and work for them in the long term. It wouldn’t be a sound investment if they left after 5 years, which is a real risk for non-HK permanent residents. They will eventually miss their home, family, etc. and move back.

我就坐过国泰一次，很小的时候，不记得了，但是近年来，国泰的名声不是太好，我怕有一天我在坐国泰会被要求只能说英文，被歧视怕怕的
