I saw them in Melbourne Australia in 1996,I will never forget it ,I was searched for weapons as i entered there were bikies ,gangster looking dudes. Then after the back up band was finished and they came on ,I will never forget the raw energy and fighting that was going on around me, but it never bothered me as I just felt part of the crowd strangely,The Sex Pistols just brought everybody together.

@@SOLROX_In February of 1978 I was 12 years old and to be honest it wasn't shocking because he was suicidal and depressed about Nancy's death and when he was released from jail he was going through withdrawals from Heroin and his mother unfortunately was his biggest adversary and scored the dope that ended his life. But i think his Mother loved him and was devastated, she was an addict also and she knew that Heroin withdrawal is terrible, so she wanted to help him ease the pain.Syd was a young nieve kid that was a victim of short success, some people questioned his intelligence, but he was smarter than what people think. It was sad to me when it happened. But i was living in Tx and most people were clueless, they did not know who the who Syd Viscous was.

Vale Chris Bailey When I say that Chris Bailey is one of the most important people in our Australian Music History, that is a massive understatement. Today's news of his passing is like losing a family member. I'm shattered and devastated. Chris came into my life in 1976, when I was supposed to be doing school homework. Listening to Sydney's JJ 1540am radio ( thanks to the Gough Whitlam government ) I heard (I'm ) Stranded by THE SAINTS. IT STILL RANKS AS ONE OF THE BEST SOUNDS I'VE EVER HEARD IN MY 61 YEARS ON THE PLANET. (I'm ) Stranded by THE SAINTS was released before New Rose. Chris Bailey was extremely intelligent with an acidic wit, not many, if any, could match him. From reports I've heard, Chris was kind, warm, sincere and generous. A beautiful spirit gone way too young. I think he had a great time whilst he was here on Earth. Not many people can do what he did. He was a Punk Pioneer without even trying or even knowing that's what he was doing. Condolences to his family, friends, all his bandmates and his legions of fans and supporters

If you look at the state of the U.K. in the mid seventies, you get a good idea where this music came from. I remember going into a newsagent in Coventry in 1976, I’d be 12, and seeing pictures of punks in a magazine and it was actually quite scary. Within a few years many of my friends looked like that. Life was more raw back then, but somehow there was more depth to it 😢
