JJ main here [since long before the recent buff] You can use Sifu to cancel some of the recovery of his heavies. This can be timed to dodge out of some funky shit when you're getting Ganked, and can open you for a zone. Another thing I rarely see other JJ's doing is cancelling your sidestep heavies raw and opting to reposition better

@@co_untryyy In 1 v 1's, find a balance between throwing your unblockables, throw the GB soft feint from it, and just plain raw canceling it into other heavies, making them respect your offense. When BEING ganked, If done correctly, a JJ can out-trade an entire group with his raw side heavies. Pulling back on the right stick after a heavy or light (finisher or starter) will cancel the recovery, even if it misses. Use this to gain space and get back your stamina, but don't linger in Sifu pose, as it is very vulnerable. There's a video on my feed called "A bit of patience can turn a tide." I struggle against every Wu Lin except Nuxia Parrying Tiandi’s dodge attack is too risky and the light attacks are just too fast for me to catch (they feel faster than Orochi’s and Nobushi’s), JJ’s dodge attack takes more time to swing than I thought so the longer animation confuses me and he can always just cancel it when I’m too focused on the timing for a free hit on the opposite side, and of course, he’s a heavy, with a big meaty healthbar As I said, Nuxia is somewhat easy for me, because if she can’t hit you with that grab attack, she can’t really do ANYTHING, Shaolin’s lights are so fast and when he gets in that stance he has multiple options to use an unblockable attack, a fast light, or a kick (also why can he disappear for his kick? He’s not a ninja), and finally Zhanhu, I don’t struggle too much against Zhanhu because as good as Zhanhu may be, I don’t see many people playing as them (and the only Zhanhu players I ever went against only light spammed, no heavy feints or guard breaks or nothing, just light spam and dodge attacks)
