Proud to be a Bluewater owner and happy to have met Ken. The company is in great hands!

I was the owner of the 24th 2850 made in 2002, I met Paul at a boat show when I made the purchase, Paul was a top notch owner, along with being responsive about anything you asked he really loved what he was doing, as far as the boat it was a beast and you could not ask for a better boat, Paul truly made owning a Bluewater a great experience, he will be missed.

Me and my son met him at the Emerald Coast Boat Show a week ago. He said he helped build the boats. Very nice guy. For me it was the most impressive boat (2850) that I looked at. I loved the layout. I hope to own one by the end of this year.

BLUEWATER is a great company, I own a older 2350, rock solid boat. Best laid out 23 footer out there! Rides great.

You ain't kidding - the 2350 fishbox is bigger than most 36+ boats lol. Very fishy boat and pre-owned is an amazing buy right now.

Great job on the video. I didn't realize Bluewater updated the 25 to a three piece design. I previously crossed them off my list since they were two piece. I'm looking forward to a walkthrough of your new Eastward.

I hope the new 25T design applies to the 28. No steps please. I bought a 2105 direct from the factory from Paul (RIP) in 2001 with a Yamaha 200. A wonderful boat. I wish you much success and ready to upgrade to a 28.

@@doug2202 honestly don't know. I presume production methods have evolved over the years. I know that Ken and the people at the factory are very accommodating. If you have or are looking at an older model, give them a call and I'm sure they will answer your question.

I would like to see a glass windscreen instead of polycarbonate . The poly just doesn’t remain clear for many years and can be super easy to mess up

Question is if you did this video before ordering your new boat would you have ordered from this builder instead?
@jiggingjerks9 ай бұрын
Fit and finish is unquestionably better on the BW. Core materials are very similar. For me, it was the stability and ride of the cat so likely not
@Steve-Jody9 ай бұрын
RIP Paul. I was shocked to learn he sold the company and would trajectory die in a small general aircraft crash.
@bobcalifornia96229 ай бұрын
Fit and finish ends up looking good but highly unimpressed with the fiberglass layup area and general garage shop clutter unfortunately.
@jiggingjerks9 ай бұрын
Not that cluttered actually. Visited quite a few factories and this seems to be the norm
@bobcalifornia96229 ай бұрын
@@jiggingjerks how many boats a year do they do? I come from a engineering environment and the Manufacturing guys i know would either throw up or laugh. It costs money to update and change for the new owner but it seems the shop guys are allowed to run their own show as long as the work gets done.
@BWboats9 ай бұрын
@bobcalifornia9622 we have been in the same shop for 25 years which Paul designed and built specifically for boat building. We have three overhead cranes that span the whole length of the shop and we have a ton of space for our production, so we are not working out of a brand new factory but it suits our needs. We rip out the floor coverings every few months in the glass shop which keeps them clean from overspray in the glass shop, we didn't feel the need to change our schedule just for this video. In assembly, we run a front line and back line. We like our boat builders to work on the whole boat. In other shops with a true assembly line, a boat can be built in six days, and they can train less experienced employees to do one job multiple times, i.e. installing a bilge pump on 5 different boats in one day and only doing that. That works also, but we find our way works for us and we get a product we can be proud to deliver to customers.

Ill take a CAD deaigned boat by a Naval Architect with fluid dynamics software (he calls a nerd) over a white board plug designed boat anyday.

He mentions his newest designs are built through CAD. It’s that last one model that Paul designed that was built the old fashioned way
@captpepin9 ай бұрын
I'd rather own a boat that is from a mold that has made hundreds of boats with a proven great ride built by a crew of people with an average tenure of over 10 years with the foreman around 20 years at the same shop and most people with 15 -20 years experience in the industry. With the boat built similar or being upgraded over the past 5-10 years after hundreds of boats made vs. a hull recently engineered by the lowest cost marine architect available then built by a Private Equity company. P.S. I have an Ocean Engineering degree and I work in Finance I know how both sides work.
@BWboats9 ай бұрын
We worked with a very well respected naval architect and engineer on the more intricate parts of the plug. The console, hatches, drains, etc. were actually computer designed and CNC cut. I was just trying to highlight the craftsmanship that went into the plug and the fact we used a tested hull, not something that had for better or worse only been run on a computer simulation. Our 355e was CAD designed and CNC cut, the design was modeled after our other hulls.
