It doesn’t have much to do with discipline. I work with a lot of kids and no matter how much you “discipline” them, some of them just don’t get it. They’re not bad kids they’re just hyper or actually some of them don’t understand the concept at all, due to various issues. If you watch Deavans videos you’ll see she doesn’t let TLC film her when she’s disciplining Drascilla - so for all we know she’s disciplining her and she just “doesn’t get it”. And there are kids that don’t. ADHD, ADD, autism, and age are all factors. Yes a 3 year old can understand “don’t do something” but they may not be able to understand every single situation or context in which it’s applicable or may just want to push the boundaries every time they have a chance. Some kids are just wild no matter what their parents do and outgrow it by the time they get to school. Drascilla isn’t punching people or cursing anyone out. She’s not stabbing people or killing animals. It’s relatively age appropriate that she be a wild child right now and push the boundaries. I’d be worried if she were doing something dangerous to someone else.

MaybeNevermind Child psychology teaches that most children don’t have a complete and deep understanding of cause and effect until they are around seven-years old. Most cannot predict all manners of consequence for any and all actions that they partake in. Being three-years old, she is still understand the limitations of good and bad, and the consequences of bad choices. But I think the problem that the mother had was the fact that when they shouted at him to come and help them get Drascilla, he focused on the fact that they were yelling and told them not to yell at him rather than having his mind in a state of emergency and going immediately to protect Drascilla. He was in a state of self-defense and self-preservation when he should of been in a state of rescue. He can self-preserve but that event wasn’t the time to do so.

Deavan’s mom is a bit of an asshole but I get Deavan’s side, she’s 22 and she’s been flying solo and working while he’s been doing what exactly? There is just not enough credit given to Jihoon. Yes, Jihoon is 30. However, he has no prior experience with children. Even new parents eff up. Second, he is trying to take responsibility for the family. He has accepted Dracilla as his own daughter which is not as easy as they think. They just expect him to become super dad to two new children. Being a new parent of 1 child is difficult, 2 is even more difficult. He really needs to be given credit for stepping up to be their father. He could have ghosted them but he didn't. I don't think this was J's fault. Drascilla wanted to be put down. He didn't know she would run away like that. She's 3 years old. Little kids sometimes do crazy stuff and they are so dang fast. Although by the age of 3 she should know to stay out of the street...but some kids just don't listen no matter what and she seems a bit on the wild side. Of course if J turned to mother in law and told her to stop yelling at him while Drascilla kept running, um yeah dude at least catch the little girl first. And none of them use that dang translator thing correctly! You can't speak like 5 sentences and expect it to translate all that. Either J needs to improve his English or D needs to learn some Korean or maybe both! lol
