Ahh, I used to follow Badkiz back in the day... I have a weird fondness for cheaply-produced electro-pop club bangers, and their underdog story was kind of compelling where it always felt like "they have these genuinely big viral hits, but they can barely get a music video... will they even make it to another comeback? How many members left this time?" It was almost like a game trying to keep up with them lol. On a serious note, I wish kpop companies would be smarter about how they manage their groups. From my perspective it makes so much more sense to focus on selecting members who are highly motivated and have a strong bond, and treat them well so they'll stay together. Then invest whatever small budget you have into good music with good videos, and creating simple-but-effective fun youtube content for fans to get to know the group. Instead they often seem to spend money on touring the group around for 100s of live performances when they only released 2 or 3 songs, and on fancy company events and dinners, meanwhile the music videos have a tiny budget, there's almost no youtube content, and the members constantly change, even the ones that stay constantly change their names. Then they will do random things like suddenly change the group name, private all the old videos, change the name back again, but now they moved to a different channel etc. so everything feels temporary and shoddy. These companies seem to treat their idols like trading cards, they just pass them around and exchange them. Some of the nugu groups I used to follow had their videos uploaded on 5-6 different 'official' channels... it just makes it impossible to follow them, and since there's no focus on keeping the group together, having a group identity, or regularly creating content, it's difficult to get strongly invested. The worst thing of all is when companies delete all of a group's videos after they disband, it just feels spiteful. It's so unfair to the group and their fans for all the music and memories to be taken away like that. I feel the same about bigger companies who make so many short-term project groups, sub-units, crossover groups etc.... like your regular groups barely have an identity or history yet, how am I supposed to get invested in any of them when you treat the members like they're interchangeable? When you look at the really successful groups they almost always have a very consistent lineup, minimal sub-units, and release almost all their content as a group. It just makes sense!

Coming back here after the news that Eunyu and Soyee have left BADKIZ. ;-; It feels like the end of an era. I didn't think there could be a member who'd be a pillar to BADKIZ after Monika left (I was expecting K.Me to be), but Eunyu stuck with BADKIZ for eight years. I still remember when she and U-Si joined. I'm gonna miss her a lot. She alluded to BADKIZ adding new members, but where can BADKIZ even go from here? Even if Hyeji and Yeso are official members, it's essentially an entire re-boot this time around.

The title makes me think of helLO VEnus and the fact BADKIZ looks pretty old like their M/V’s look old makes me think of them like I wish they’d come back and the fact BADKIZ had members leave and be added well HelLO VEnus lost their original leader and another member and replaced them with two new members then one of the original members became leader and one of the new members replaced one of the original members as the maknae ok so YooAra was the original leader then Alice became the leader Yooyoung was the original maknae and then Yeoreum became the maknae and YooAra and Yoonjo left then got replaced with Seoyoung and Yeoreum and the fact you miss BADKIZ I miss HelLO VEnus

Technically it was two different groups as they had a whole re debut from Black Queen to Hey Girls, I am looking into making a video on them. But those stats are also a bit old, and I am currently working in looking into these sorts of groups to get a solid number on each group. But yea hope that makes sense ☺️

now they had A LOT of member changes but it’s mainly because the company allowed them to leave whenever they wanted mostly .. which is unheard of in the industry. They didn’t have the “slave contract” system most do .. I loved all their music and the members, every one was so impactful to me! 🫶🏼
