Jill was THE ONE back in the '80s! It's a shame why we don't hear from her anymore, these days! 🌼🌼🌼🌼

This lively program, filled with grace/style & well executed moves foreshadowed the success yet to come: Olympian, 3-peat National Champion, World Champion. THIS is what figure skating should always look like.

I adored her as a young girl. She’s beautiful & had such great costumes... I loved it when figure skating was on all the time!! She was definitely a favorite!! Hope she is well!!

THE best one-foot axel into triple salchow. Her trademark!

This is about the best I've seen her skate. After she won several big Int'l competitions, the pressure got to her. Trenary started popping triples or reduce triple jumps to double or singles. Not the most consistent or proficient skater technically. By 1991, Jill would leave skating permanently.

YES! The Trenary! Perhaps it's forgotten because no one else can seem to perform it. I remember Bobek trying.

jon doe ...and I always thought Joanne Conway, her training mate, was the one inspired Jill to include it in her program...

Definetly a trademark and very difficult. Jill's speed and flow is what made it so impressive! Tonya Harding did try it but didn't land it and under Carlo Fassi, Mark Mitchell did a 1foot axel/triple loop.

You could see the FOCUS - she went back to her "game face" after the 3flip success. Very musical in this program which helped. A bit more aggressive than usual - which never hurts.

Jill was perhaps the most innovative skater of our generation. Lack of energy???? She was all about energy out there to the end. She skates on clouds.

Dick had a lot of skaters to compare Jill's (and others) artistic impression to, so I find it ironic that he chose to mention Christopher Dean, an ice dancer. Jill and Christopher would later marry, have two children, and then divorce in 2010. I can't help but wonder if Jill and Christopher had even met at this point, given that she didn't rise to prominence until this performance.

Can't Peggy count or is she relying too much on notes instead of actually watching what's going on? Jill had five triples not four, and the salchow she stumbled out of was her fourth triple, not her third. Two toes, two sals, and a flip. Overall it was a terrific program.
