Jill, for me personally, I always enjoy your architectural subjects, quaint shops, but I think I would like to see food subjects as well. I love this painting today and thanks for making these serene and calming videos with that music, love the music. the above comment was made before the end and I have to say I kind of like the second approach the best. They both are great in a different way but I like the loose look

I prefer the second sketch. It has a more relaxed appearance, and causes you to look at it longer which I think means it's more enjoyable to the eye. The first sketch is wonderful too. It does have more detail, but all of the natural world is detailed, so we're used to detail in our daily lives. Just some thoughts. I wish I can be as good as you! You have a natural talent!

I can't decide on which one I like best? They are both so lovely. I find your videos so relaxing and inspiring, you are so good at what you do. So glad I found you on you tube, I have downloaded some of your skeches from Ko-Fi and had a go myself which I have really enjoyed doing, not feeling confident enough to do the line work myself, the sketches have been great. Love it!

Hi Jillee. Ive been really enjoying your content. Please do more buildings. There are so many different shape sizes buildings in the world that you will never be short of new ideas. Statues are also something nice to draw. Landscape also. I'd like to see your approach to that. But i really love your urban stuff. more please. Thanks so much for the content. its really humbling and inspiring which is all i can ask for. btw. balance is the centre of all things. literally and figuratively. 😉

I think they both turned out great, but if I had to pick one I would pick the loose one. Like all art, it's your own choice how you want to interpret something. But given one took 5 hours, I think the one that took less time is probably better, just because it allows more time to do other things, however if you had fun doing the 5 hour one, then it doesn't matter. Thank you again for sharing.

Lovely! I passed this oden/yakitori shop a few times during my trip to Tokyo. It actually has the word sankaku (triangle) in its name 炉端とおでん サンカク. the reference photo you used is cropped I think. because on top of the store front is actually a triangle roof. Great work!

You are such a good teacher. I love everything about you, your work, your subjects, your voice, the info you give, not too much not too little, the quality and clarity the videos are so professional… you are inspiring me to give this a go. I have been coming to watercolours but i really like to ink in the design and then paint it. This tutorial may be on the expert level but i really want to try this! You make me feel confident. Thank you. I will go and follow you on that creator’s site your refering and buy a couple of your line works just to make it easier on myself and not give up on the first take. Thank you, you made want to try something else than simple botanicals Watercoloring. You are just a darling. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

hello, i try to let some thoughts here in words, written through bits. i got your video as a "hey look this, this might interests you" and yeah, i watched the Video. the Voice and background Noises are so much relaxing. and then, see really beautifull art comes to life. so much pleasure. i like both, on its own kind, the second one is more in the "here, look, so much to see and feel". for my mind, its because the lack of details let get me more in the situation, if i will stand in front of it, because my mind will filter a lot of details out. im a total logic brain and i cant reproduce anything near a first grade kid, but i grwo into a kind of love with this. thanks to be behind your shoulder and let us see and hear your thoughts about your art

The "mistake" is entirely in your mind, because no one would even have noticed if you hadn't called such attention to it. Even had we noticed the difference in a side-by-side comparison, we'd be inclined to think "oh, the leaves blew in front of the banner on this sketch, it must be a breezy day". Sounds like a happy accident to me, bringing some extra life to the sketches. Just roll with it and don't worry about "correcting" something that needn't be an error, risking overworking the spot.
