I actually love them with most wigs. I have 2 where they don't work at all. They have a nice full cap with lace part too

First of all , I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! Thank you so much for being here for us “newbies” to wigs. I just started wearing wigs about two months ago due to having radiation treatments for my cancer and lost all my hair in less then two weeks. Except for at the nape I have what I call my “old man skirt”. LoL. My natural hair was naturally curly, thick and about 3” below my butt. So quite long. It was gorgeous and I miss it terribly. But things happen and it is what it is, so moving along. I too have the same issue as you....the darn wigs just won’t stay on my head. I swear I must have a cone shaped head with the tip pointing to the back! Everything wants to slide right on back and off! I was told about the wig gripper and saw online where they were $23.00+ and to be very honest I’m on an extremely small income and it hurts to spend even that amount and especially not using it towards the purchase of a wig. But I did just that....I had to try to get the wig to stay on somehow! Like you said, it felt bulky and thick and just too much under my wig and it didn’t work anyway! So a waste of money (there was not an option for returns). And with all this I was double crossing bobby-pins and using 2 on each side behind my ears, 1 small one at the front bottom on each side and then using extra large bobby-pins at the crown to mid back of my head then lastly at the nape on each side of the comb.. It felt as if I had a metal helmet on instead of a wig! I would use this what hair I do have remaining as an anchor. Wow! Wearing a wig for the next 4 to 5 years while my hair grows out was looking like it would be pure hell and torturous for me. I had always heard it was fun, adventurous and spontaneously exciting. But then like you Jill, I found IT STAYS....thank God for whoever developed this product and made it affordable even for my meager income!! I LOVE IT ! So out with the wig gripper and out with the metal “helmet” from the bobby-pins. There is just so much to learn and find out what works. So to have your tutorials available is a blessing for me. You have given me such great tips and you’re so enjoyable. It’s so easy to learn, follow and e bit understand everything you share. After all said Jill, I do have one question for you, since you do not use a wig cap but you do have hair to use the spray that you use and the IT STAYS, what do you recommend in my case where I don’t have any hair except a little bit at the nape of my neck? I’m just not clear on this area of what I should do. I’ve been told and always seen on the wig store sites etc. that you “must” wear a cap to protect your wig and I just don’t want to ruin the couple of wigs I do have. Again, thank you so much and looking foreword to learning more from your tutorials.

Maybe someone, after all this time, has suggested this to you, but store your It Stays upside down and that will keep the roller always easy to roll. Good info in this video!

Hi Jill. I use the wig grip in a dark brown color. That color is undetectable under a lace front. Also, my head is kind of flat in back and I put my bio hair in two piggie tails at the nape and then the wig grip goes under that and stays secure all day. I tried one pony tail, but that didn't work. Having the two is perfect for me, for what it is worth.

Hi Jill, I like my wig grip but as you say with lace front it doesn't work well. I use It Stays but when I sweat on theseCharlotte summer days, it seems to run down my face a little. Kind of sticky😝. Also when I take off my wig at the end of the day I have to get my hair totally wet to get the It Stays out of my hair. Not ideal but I tolerate it because I'm deep into the wig wearing. lol! I also wanted to share something I got from Nisha about wearing the off the shoulder tops. Check out her video on that. The tip really works on keeping those tops off the shoulder! So cool. 💕Angie

@JillLynnBeautyTherapy 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Angie! I don't know why I don't have that problem...I don't think I use that much perhpas where it would run down my face?I use just enough to secure the wig and 'stay'. I have yet to have that problem when I sweat. I do also have to get my hair wet...but, it's not a problem. I just lean over my bathroom sink and put some water in hand and let it soak off those areas...then, I brush through my hair and I'm good! It's kind of refreshing actually. ;) Yeah, I also saw the video too regarding the way Nisha keeps her off the shoulder tops from riding up. Honestly, that would drive me more nuts than the tops riding up. ;) I couldn't stand having that feeling under my armpit! :( I watch Nisha's videos when they come out...just love them! Thanks so much for watching, and for taking the time to leave your post too! I do appreciate it! Have a wonderful rest of your day! Hugs~

Thanks for the video! I’m going to try these ideas because I have a large head, really want to be a wig wearer since my bio hair is very thin. I bought my first wig online, didn’t measure my head since they assured me it was adjustable for all sizes. Wrong! My budget is small so I can’t afford a really expensive wig but I’m determined to find a way! 😊 (Jan, 2023)

I have tried alot of methods, and found one on youtube that also works for me. Monique Parent, Hollywood Secrets: Basic Wig Application at 12:50, her stylist demonstrates using hair pins to secure. I use flocked hair pins, blonde color called Frenchies from amazon. I put 1 at each ear tab, 2 at the nape, and 1 at the crown. They lock it down and blend in with my blonde color.

Hi Jill, great informative video. Thank you! I use a combo of it stays or wig grip. With the wig grip, I use clips, not the extension kind, but regular hair clips in the back to stop slippage. Thank you again, I did not know of the second brand of wig grip, I need to look for that too. Have a nice day!

I have to glue (It Stays) the wig grip to my bio hair. Then it will stay in place and hold the wig. I only do the wig grip because I don't want to get glue on my wig. Lately I have experimented with putting my bio hair up and gluing a wig cap to my bio hair around the edges. The cap has rubber elastic that helps hold the wig, but I worry abut the wig all the time I am wearing it. :)

Hi Pammie Sue. Jill is wearing a SqHair Band in this video. She has purchased several from us. They work great with wigs - such a natural look. SqHair Bands use actual Sunglass arms - so they don't pinch behind the ears. They extend past the ears (like glasses). Thanks, Julie G'

Hi Deena! It could be that you are using too much. It Stays does stay a bit tacky...that's what makes it work. If it dries...it won't 'hold'. I find less is more with it. You also can use a little water to easily remove any tackiness you wish to get rid of. Sounds like the wig grip does the trick for you, though! ;) Thanks for watching today! Have a great Sunday!
