Scott sits with lead guitarist and singer of legendary emo-punk pop band Jim Adkins of Jimmy Eat World, the morning of the group's NYC performance at Central Park Summerstage. They get into a brief history of Jimmy Eat World, from early teenage years listening to hair metal to their early influences like Pixies, Fugazi, and Rocket from the Crypt. They discuss how the band got together, the Capitol Records years, leading up to being dropped and how they secured a new deal with Dreamworks, which led to the iconic record 'Bleed American.' They also dive into the process behind that record, leading up to other subjects like Taylor Swift, AI, and how Prince came to cover "The Middle." They finish out talking about the tour with Manchester Orchestra and a great set of Top 5s, from the greatest Jimmy Eat World songs to the best pop punk songs.

Oh man Arizona days! I was at one of those first CFD shows. Still have the 1st JEW 7 inch. Was a DJ at ASU and played it often. Seven story Mountain was another great Tempe band at the time.
