Yeah, Jamie Foreman first appeared as Derek after Jim was taken into care. I don't know if Jim had any scenes with the original Derek, Terence Beesley. I assume he did because according to Wikipedia, they both made their first appearance on the 29th April 1996. But did Jim have any scenes with Jack at all?

Yes Jim had scenes with Jack. Jack went to visit him in his care home. And Jim attended Jack and Ronnie’s first wedding.

I agree, I liked Jim, but after hearing the way he treated Max, i understand Max’s anger. Max’s speech at Jim’s funeral, was harsh but I understand why he said all of that stuff. If you noticed, all hardmen and bad boys of soap operas were all abused by their fathers. Phil Mitchell, Cain Dingle, Brendan Brady, Aaron Dingle and Max. Brendan and Aaron had it bad, as their fathers Seamus and Gordon sexually abused them. Cain, Phil and Max’s fathers Shadrach, Eric and Jim were abusive, but their dad’s just knocked them about with their fists.

It’s not Jim’s fault that he fell into a loveless marriage to Max’s mother. Jim hated the woman. He never loved her. And somehow took that out on Max. I don’t understand why Jim didn’t give Max an explanation as to why he was the way he was when Max was a little kid. Max could have at least asked him why he was the way he was back then. I don’t know why Max didn’t think about hearing his father’s side of the story about what really happened during his childhood in this scene

He was upset Phil sent him down yeah, but that doesn't justify killing Stephen, who knew nothing about this, and wasn't responsible for sending him down, if it was anyone who should be killed it should be Phil, but Max didn't have the guts, his fight with Phil was pathetic anyway, even a drunken Phil with a heart condition beat him easily without Max even landing a punch, in any case he was not exactly completely innocent, he had an affair with Lucy who was 17 at the time and forced a kiss on her, so technically he was a peadophile. Although he wasn't directly responsible for her death, he led to a small head injury when she banged her head on the post trying to break free of his grip, he deserved to go down if he didn't have this affair I'd have full sympathy for him.
