Opie got fired recording a video of someone taking a shit. Jim and Sam didn't want their show to be on a channel named after Opie. Sam is more than qualified to be a stand alone host so is Jim. What killed Jim and Sam was Sirius offered Jim a low contract because the ratings sucked. The ratings being bad can be attributed to Jim not giving a shit. Making it the Sam Show most of the time. Kinda like Ron and Fez except Fez was a character where everything he did on the air was a joke and he retired when he got tired. Jim left over the money. Hope his podcast does well but looking at the numbers its nothing to write home about.

However, in both cases, it would be nich oriented fan base with the grace period needed to grow into something substantial. Live broadcast/podcast market is pretty saturated, which in a way is a good thing , because it weeds out unwanted competition and gives the opportunity for new ideas and air bits to be written to help stand alone hosts flourish.

Personally, I enjoyed thier show together. It and Stern weren't worth the $$ for sirius though, so I canceled. Anthony by himself these days is tough for me to listen to usually, but I enjoy when he and Jimmy find themselves together. I keep coming back to give you a shot, because frankly I think the hate you get is unwarranted. O&A and Stern are what helped keep me sane inside a truck for so many years. Jim wasn’t a radio show host because he knew he could show up and make some jokes off the cuff and call it a rough day at the mines. He didn’t need to stretch himself, but also because there were other people who would do it. Now, he’s on his own he’ll have to put in some more work. He’s not a dumb guy, I’m not sure if he has the work ethic to do it. We’ll have to wait and see to find out. Might be great, might suck, dunno. He’s already started the show, so that’s a good sign.

Opie, You’re the reason that Sam was a bigger part of The O&A Show than he should’ve been. You knew most of the fans couldn’t stand him. But because You liked him, you forced him down our throats. Even when you, Ant & Jimmy were all 3 on mic, you made sure Sam was on mic too, even though he added nothing. He made fun of everyone on the show, but you protected him to the point that he was rarely allowed to take a turn in the barrel

I think the thing that I am most disappointed by is that I had to give you a view to come and leave this comment… Sam is definitely an O&A guy. The show was different than the old days but nonetheless good. It never surprises me how whiny Opie will get trying to explain how much he doesn’t care about something.

He's very good at SOME things, like the barebones of running a Radio show, like interviewing, but he's so fake and smarmy. Ever since he hooked up with Nicole, it brought out his worst on-air instincts. Some people like that fake drama over EVERY... LITTLE... THING, I guess?

I would argue that Norton himself wasn't an OG O&A guy either. It was just Ope and Ant back when I became a fan. As for Sam Roberts and Sirius in general: WHO CARES!? Both have become more and more irrelevant, and will continue to do so. Norton is smart to get out and do his own thing, but maybe too late...
