Jim Bolen KMOX TV Tribute 1994

This is a tribute that KMOX-TV did for the passing of Jim Bolen in 1994..
Jim Bolen, a veteran television broadcaster for KMOV-TV whose on-air jobs ranged from the sailor "Cooky" on a children's show to news co-anchor, died early Saturday. He was 67.
Mr. Bolen, of Belleville, died at 12:08 a.m. at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, KMOV officials said. He underwent surgery Sept. 28 for an abdominal aneurysm and removal of a blood clot in his leg that was discovered during that surgery. He had been in critical condition since surgery.
Mr. Bolen's first and steady love was jazz. He played the vibraphone, an instrument similar to the xylophone. He led the Gateway City Big Band, played with the St. Louis Jazz All Stars, was host to a weekly radio jazz show and helped organize many jazz events. …

I had the good fortune to know him personally. Been to his house...played with Jimmy Jr. And he was class.
