Hehe, nice one :) I got invited to play guitar at a charity gig he did, by my mate Boomer, guitar player extraordinaire and a mate of Jims. Jim played the trumpet.The Carleton, Morecambe. We met and chatted for a very short time. Then we did the gig. Had a few beers afterwards etc. Anyway, a couple of years later I was at the Redwell with my sisters (then) boyfriend, Pete. I said "Yeah, Jim Bowen comes in here sometimes" "Really"? I like him" 5 minutes later, no joke, in walks Jim. We were sat just by the door. Jim walks in, looks around, looks at me and says "Alright Stew" and walks off to the bar. I feckin pissed meself laughing at the look on Petes face :D

RIP Jim Bowen. Bullseye was essential Sunday teatime viewing back in the 1980s. I'd love to have seen this unseen episode assuming it had been edited into a complete episode. He impersonated his fellow comedians quite well. The late great Bernard Manning once said that he looked older than he was.
@cchance19733 жыл бұрын
It was never shown because it never happened. The lowest prize anyone could win in the 1st round was £30 (apart from nothing of course). And the regulations on British TV have always been that the cash and prizes are never paid out until the show is transmitted, if its never broadcast you don't get anything you've 'won'. That's why when people sadly pass away after the recording they show the programme 'at the request of the family' as they are told if its not shown no one will get paid out! Still it was a good story from Jim and he managed to finish the night off by dropping the F bomb.
