My favorite Ultimate Warrior story, for some reason, is Warrior taking the cookie in catering and crushing it in his fist, then taking a single long inhale with his nose next to his fist, then throwing the cookie in the trash. Someone came to him and asked what that was about and Warrior said "That was my cheat meal. I allow myself to cheat on my diet once a week by smelling a cookie."

I bought a box of comics at a flea market, in that box was issue one of the WARRIOR comic. The whole first two or three pages were ramblings from warrior, and a definition of DESTRUCITY. He also had these text boxes to explain his terminology, to he warrior character says “have to get foked” and the box says “foked* means focused” the whole comic is a dude in the snow with just briefs, boots, facepaint, and arm bands. That’s it:

Warrior was no ring general by any means but he kicked the arse of most wrestlers when it came to committing to his character and the back story. Only Undertaker and Steve Austin have in my opinion mastered that element of the game better than Warrior did. Most modern wrestlers are so self concious they can't suspended disbelief at all because you can see them thinking as themselves and then putting on the character. All the promos have the same staccato delivery because they are thinking all the time and never truly lost in the moment. This is why Warrior was a success with the fans. He bought into it so the fans went with him.
@frankienichols5135
@frankienichols5135 Жыл бұрын
There’s a bit of a difference between committing to your character and adopting the whole persona, that was UW’s problem - he genuinely believed in the mythos he wrote for himself and refused to work unless it was for himself. Both ‘taker and Stone Cold were committed but that commitment never overshadowed the business because they both respected the business, UW never did and would burn the whole thing down to prove that he was so far above everyone else. It was his downfall and rightly deserved
