Heyman’s China Club story & others that were NY regional in nature were part of the Airline ticket Con. He was telling these stories to Cornette & others to reinforce the idea that he was going back & forth to NY , when he was in fact staying in Atlanta. He made them fantastical in nature as to heighten the chances of independent re-telling by the people he told & thus reinforcing his alleged travel thruout the network of wrestlers/office in the company. Whether people believed his stories or not it worked both ways , no one ever thought or bothered to doubt the mundane details of his stories - only the exciting details. It still did the job of reinforcing “Heyman - NYC” even if people thought he was full of BS. He’s a classic con man thru and thru

I fucking love these Heyman stories. I don't know what's more hilarious: figuring out how to refund the plane tickets or Prichard's story of him calling into a conference call at his parent's house while suspended. Heyman's life is a real life sitcom or comedy where the main protagonist thinks of "get rich quick" schemes.

And even if he wasn't, the story would still make sense, you can imagine Paul at the club drawing attention to himself, Jack Nicholson asks someone "who's that guy" and they tell him "he's Paul E Dangerously, a pro wrestling manager who gets hit with a tennis racket," the rest writes itself.

The "south" is known for people being more honest, and they think that other people are honest the same way. TBS didn't understand business outside Georgia. Think of it the same way that the entirety of the "south" were bamboozled by an orange orangatan real estate scheister from NY, and put him into office. Too damn trusting.
@Pillar5770
@Pillar5770 5 жыл бұрын
@@princeofcupspoc9073 As Nikita explained it, WCW wanted all of their wrestlers to move to Atlanta. Many, including Nikita, refused. WCW kept issuing refundable plane tickets to wrestlers for travel out of Atlanta. Nikita would exchange his tickets to travel out of Charlotte, which was cheaper, and He pocketed the remaining money. Paul Heyman and many others did the same thing. It wasn't honesty on WCW's part, just plain stupidity.

mharris1270 basically ECW was owed a lot of money from PPV and Aclaim and those companies figured that if they held off paying ECW long enough, ECW would go out of business and they were right. TNN screwed them over and put out a bad word about ECW to the other networks mostly so the WWE would come on to their network (ECW was kicked off TNN, even though it was one of TNNs highest rated shows, to make room for WWE. Ironically WWE didn’t stay on TNN for very long and it opened the door for TNA and UFC) and there would be very little outside competition. If ECW was paid what they were owed before the bankruptcy, ECW would of at least had broken even and that would given ECW the time to get enough money to stay afloat until a TV could of been reached. But since ECW didn’t get the money owed to them, they had no money and a lot of unpaid bills due. Not sure if the WWE ended up receiving the ECW owed money (which would mean that the WWE made money off the purchase of ECW alone). Basically It was equivalency of holding a steak just out of reach of a starving dog until the dog starved to death and then justifying that you didn’t have to give the dog the steak because the dog would of died anyway.

That hardly makes him a creep. He's definitely a con man but calling him a creep is very harsh

@@liamjohnston5099 I made a statement mocking an individual. The literal definition of creep is one who is "unpleasant." It's entirely subjective in this case as we measure things in degrees from most to least...from the most pleasant to the least pleasant in this case. To me, he's unpleasant. Besides, I was being facicious.

I reckon the life, lies, shenanigans, and scams, of Paul Heyman, would make for a great film; he’s sort of like Ed Wood, crossed with P.T. Barnum. Just about everybody who knows him, understands what a manipulative, lying scheming, bastard he is; yet, the majority of those same people, still seem to like him, no matter how many times he’s lied, or bullshitted them…it’s really quite astounding haha.
